Coach 1941 Dinky Shoulder Bag Review
Hello friends! Today I want to do a Coach 1941 Dinky Shoulder Bag Review. I bought this bag a while ago on the preloved market and I think it’s so cute, which Is why I thought it was time to do a blog post review of it! This adorable bag is from 2017 and they still make similar versions of it to this day, so I think it’s time we had a chat about it! Let’s go!
I have a few little Coach bags in my collection and the Dinky is one of my favourites. I love how small and casual it is, it really is a go-anywhere bag and there’s so many ways to wear it and style it, it’s a winner…. the only regret I have is that I don’t have a original one! I love the vintage ones! That being said, my 9 year old Coach Dinky bag is still in great shape and I love it!

Coach 1941 Dinky Shoulder Bag Review
This is really one of those bags I stumbled upon and I couldn’t resist buying it! I bought mine on the preloved market for an absolute steal, it was £25, if you can believe and I just had to have it! I think the reason it was so cheap is because it is missing it’s luggage tag, it’s also got a little wear and tear to the metallic leather and finally, I think it was so cheap because of where I bought it. I found it on Tilt, which is honestly one of the cheapest places to buy vintage Coach bags and wallets.
Tilt is a live auction site where you bid and buy in sellers streams, like all auctions, sometimes the prices are high, sometimes they are low. You can get lucky on the day and this is one of those occasions where I got lucky! This bag would normally cost around £50-150, so I was thrilled at the price I got it at!
I am a mum and my toddler is a real runner, so I personally find backpacks and crossbody bags are ideal for me as it means I can be hands-free. So for me, I love this Coach Dinky bag as it’s small, cute and comfortable and looks great worn crossbody. However, it’s nice to know when she’s older and I have a bit more freedom with my hands, I can wear it as a shoulder bag instead, I feel like it’s also a bag which my little girl might enjoy borrowing when she’s older too.
The design of this bag is super simple, which I love because it’s super timeless. However, there are loads of options of colours and finishes of this bag and of course, I have a very fancy finish on mine! I have split feelings about the metallic front, as whilst I think it’s really fun and cool, it is more prone to scratching and the front of the bag has more wear and tear to it than the back. Which Is unusual as normally when the leather is pale, you are more likely to see more wear to the back where it rubs against your clothing. So whilst I like the metallic finish, I’m not sure I would buy it again, as I would probably stick to a traditional leather finish. That being said, it is 9 years old and still looking pretty good!
The bag overall is nice and sturdy and it’s comfortable to wear. It’s the perfect mix between being strong and well made, but not so heavy it’s annoying and cumbersome. My biggest change I would make to this bag is that I would love the purse to be removable. I would love for it to clip in and out so I can use it with this bag or other bags, and similarly, if I didn’t want to carry a purse, it would make the interior of the bag feel bigger. It’s also a great holiday bag as you can wear it in the day or night, or even make it into a clutch bag. Also, if you are someone who likes to put all their travel documents into one little bag, this is a great handbag organiser whilst you are in the airport, and then you can use it as a handbag when you get there.
The Coach dinky bag is one of the most popular smaller coach bag sizes out there and honestly, I can see why… it has it all, an adjustable strap, enough width to get a little more in than your might expect, a strong clasp, removable strap and timeless design. You really can’t go wrong with the dinky, the only thing I would say, is be very careful of what colour and finish you go for, as this metallic leather isn’t as hardwearing as some other finishes and it is the kind of bag you wear frequently so you might want something a little more hardwearing. And if you do go for black, then don’t worry if you think it feels boring, as you can always add bag charms and scarves onto it to jazz it up with more maximalist looks.
Like I said, the only criticism with this bag is that I would like the purse to be removable, but the fact they have served us a purse, is pretty major! well done Coach, well done!!
