Jo Malone ‘Orange Blossom’ Cologne

hello friends! Today I want to do a review of Jo Malone orange blossom cologne. I love love love this perfume, it’s one of my favourite and the longevity and projection of it is amazing! It’s a wonderfully rich, elegant, floral fragrance, and it has a very special famous fan… the one and only Kate Middleton! That’s right, the always elegant Kate Middleton loves this perfume and reportedly even wore it on her wedding day!

“A shimmering garden oasis. Clementine flower sparkles over orange blossom and water lily, with warm undertones of orris and balsamic vetiver.”

What does Jo Malone ‘Orange Blossom’ Cologne smell like?

A zesty, exciting, white floral fragrance containing notes of Clementine Flower, White Lilac and Orriswood. It’s a perfect wedding day fragrance.

Top Notes: Clementine Flower

Heart Notes: White Lilac

Base Notes: Orriswood

Jo Malone ‘Orange Blossom’ Fragrance Combining

In my opinion, Jo Malone Orange Blossom combines with Peony & Blush Suede, Blackberry & Bay and English Pear & Freesia to make it fresher and amp up those wonderful day time floral and forna notes.

To make Jo Malone Orange Blossom a little warmer and more evening-ready, then combine with Dark Amber & Ginger Lily, Velvet Rose & Oud and Tuberose & Angelica for something a little richer, complex and more romantic!

I love this perfume, it’s a stunning signature perfume, that being said, the fragrance combining is a wonderful way to make it a little more playful, moody or sexy. It’s one of my favourite perfumes from the brand!

How To Apply Jo Malone Perfume

Spritz generously onto your wrists, neck and pulse points – your body heat will help to diffuse the fragrance as the day goes on. Wear alone or layer with another Cologne or your favourite Bath & Body products. I always try to avoid misting it onto jewellery too, as that can discolour your jewellery, especially if it’s costume jewellery or a delicate finish like gold vermeil.

When to wear this perfume?!

  • Wear it in the summer or when you want to feel summer time joy!
  • wear to a wedding. Or if you are the bride!
  • give as a bridal gift
  • wear to a garden party
  • wear on holiday
  • combine with a fragrance like Myrrh & Tonka for a sensual evening scent

is Jo Malone cologne worth the money?

Personally, I think Jo Malone cologne is worth the money if you love it and will wear it. Some of their fragrances have better staying power than others, so I would say to test them out and choose your favourite which has the best longevity. This Orange Blossom cologne has great staying power, so I would say this is a good fragrance investment. Also, keep it in the box and don’t wear it infrequently as I think some jo malone perfumes have spoiled after about 3-5 years.

Jo Malone ‘Orange Blossom’ Cologne Review

I’m so excited to be writing this Jo Malone Orange Blossom Cologne Review as it’s a perfume I have been LOVING wearing during this mini heatwave!

Jo Malone Orange Blossom Cologne is truly the most perfect summer perfume. It’s fresh, green, floral and bursting with distinctive, sparkling, ripe orange blossom. Absolutely stunning!

When I think about Jo Malone colognes, I think about simple, high quality fragrances which contain two key notes which contrast with each other; For instance; Blackberry & Bay; a blend of ripe, juicy delicious blackberries, combined with dark, woodsy, leafy green leaves. Or Gardenia & Oud; which is a combination of solar, fresh, floral notes and and smoky, intense woodsy oud. Two very different accords, which bounce off each other to create a simple, yet complex fragrance. This fragrance takes a different direction…

Instead, Jo Malone Orange Blossom Cologne mirrors fragrances like Red Roses or Grapefruit. These fragrances are based on one key ingredient with the additional notes adding texture and support to the orange blossom. The Lilac adds a little more floral to the orange blossom, whilst the orriswood adds a little powdery woodsiness into the mix. This fragrance is all about the glorious orange blossom, it’s a celebration of its natural loveliness, part floral, part citrus, and truly magical!

Needless to say, I would consider this perfume more of a women’s fragrance than a men’s. But that’s my personal opinion.

Jo Malone Orange Blossom Cologne is wonderful feel-good floral fragrance, it’s an icon of the Jo Malone collection and one of the most beautiful editions of Orange Blossom that any brand has ever created. It’s simple, beautiful, fresh, ripe, lovely, classic and elegant. It’s rumoured to be a favourite of Kate Middleton’s and it’s a favourite with brides for it’s longevity, uplifting vibe and modern-classicness. Have you tried it yet?
