Fragrance combining
Jo Malone’s Ginger Biscuit combines beautifully with Myrrh & Tonka for a slightly richer, creamer twist on ginger biscuit. It’s also perfect with cardamom & mimosa for a touch more sweetness and spice.
Finally, for a juicy twist, pair it with Pomegranate Noir, it retains its magic and mystery, but ads a little extra red fruit.
Jo Malone ‘Ginger Biscuit’ Cologne review
Over the years we have seen some incredible Jo Malone launches however, this has to be one of the best. It’s splendid. It’s one of those fragrances, which feels like an instant classic. In fact, fans already begging them to make it a part of their permanent collection. It’s THAT good!
Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit cologne is surprisingly complex. It of course smells like sweet ginger and soft, dark brown sugar. But of course it’s so much more! It has hints of Lemon, green woods, Tobacco, almond and vanilla. Alongside the main accords of ginger, hazelnut and Tonka bean.
Personally, I usually avoid Super sweet fragrances that this is very different. This is magical. They have expertly balanced the sweetness with nutty and spicy accords to avoid it being too youthful and sickly and instead it’s got a real boozy, rich sweetness to it.
Jo Malone Ginger biscuit is really moorish and addictive. From the first spritz you want more! It’s a real gourmand, filled with ginger delights, warm wood fires, sweet hazelnuts which remind me of roasted chestnuts. There’s also some really beautiful soft spices, not like the typical clove, nutmeg and cinnamon, they are similar but different, maybe they have used a more crystallised version.
There’s such a warmth and joy to this fragrance, it feels really cosy and nostalgic. It has a sense of fun to it, and if feels like good memories; both old and new!!
If this perfume was to smell like a moment, it would be waiting for the ginger biscuits to bake whilst the fire roars, the chestnuts roasts, the fairy lights sparkle and the creamy, almonds liquor cocktails are poured. It’s rich and warm, but there’s also a lightness and a freshness to it which makes it not too ‘much’. It’s not too intense, it’s just perfect!
In terms of other Jo Malone fragrances it reminds me of, it has similarities with Myrrh & Tonka, as well as vetiver & golden vanilla. It also reminds me a little of Velvet rose & oud, more for the vibes than the accords, as well as the beloved Roasted chestnut candle. But to be honest, this cologne kind of stands alone if I’m honest! If you love a Christmasy gourmand, you will love this!
Plus Christmas is a great time to buy Jo Malone london as that’s when the deals are on, right now you can get a free 9ml bottle of Velvet Rose & Oud from the cologne intense collection by using the code ‘GIFT’ at check out!
