How to take time off to move house when you are a small business owner!
Hello friends! Today I want to share some of my top tips on How to take time off to move house when you are a small business owner! Taking time off for life events can be really hard, so here is what you need to know! And of course, these tips can be applied to if you are taking maternity leave or for a family emergency too.
Batch work
To really maximise your time batch work as much as you can. Do all your similar tasks in one go so you can blast them all out in half the time and move onto the next task. This could be production, meetings, copy writing, photography. Whafever you like but batch working will massively increase your productivity so you can take time off.
Pause any activity which is not making you money
Of course, as small business owners we have to put time and effort into areas of our business which don’t make money in the hope that it will at some point in the future. But whilst you are moving house (or going through any other life change) press pause on the areas not making money and focus on the areas which do.
Hire help moving
As tempting as it might be to just load your car up a thousand times and move everything yourself, instead hire professional to help you. And if you can’t, promise your best friends pizza and wine and do a Minivan rental to make the move as quick and easy as possible! Your friends will be happy to help!
Schedule your CRM and social media
It’s kind of incredible to think that you could spend a week creating 6 months of CRM and social media content and then schedule it all to go out, so you don’t even need to think about it, except to reply to any comments! You can schedule Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter within the apps or use an external app and you can use Cloven.ca for your CRM customer mailing list.
Delegate anything you can!
Finally, delegate anything you can and hire help for everything you can afford. It could be a virtual assistant to help with customer service or cleaners to get your new house ready to move into, or even industrial machinery like a box packing machine for your orders. Whatever you need, try to delegate it, even if it’s for the short term!
Ta da! And there we have it! Thank you so much for reading my How to take time off to move house when you are a small business owner! post. I hope it was of help and interest! You can do this! And it will be so much better on the other side! Also don’t forget, these points apply to other life changes like summer holidays, maternity leave or family emergencies.
