They started as book binders!
Gigi New York was founded by Tom & Carole Glazer in 2010; before this time, their family business was high quality leather book binding, but after the recession they decided to pivot from book binding into handbags. They used all the same high quality leathers and practices, but this time making fashion accessories. Their bags are known for being simple, timeless and practical, often featuring a gold monogram. In many ways, not unlike a traditional leather bond note book. Personal yet practical.

Smart girls love Gigi
Gigi New York is a real ‘smart girl’ brand. The Gigi girl is style conscious, clever and savvy. She loves beautiful things, but she is great at finding perfectly tailored pieces and high quality leather accessories, without spending a fortune. She might also have a bit of a cute preppy look too. Maybe it’s their bookish history, but the girls who wear Gigi New York bags are really smart!
Gigi bags are great quality!
I have had my Gigi bag for over 8 years now and it’s still looking amazing! Their leather is thick and hardwearing grained leather. It’s soft enough to feel lovely and tactile, but treated enough to be hardwearing and durable. In terms of the quality, look and feel, it reminds me a lot of the pebble leather that Coach use. And as much as I love Coach, their bags are a lot more money than Gigi bags! As for their hardware, this is also similar to the coach brass hardware. It’s thick, chunky and incredibly high quality, it’s beautiful, as for the general overall quality and craftsmanship, it’s all flawless!
Great for no-logo girls
Gigi New York bags are great for those who love a beautifully designed bag, made using top quality leather but don’t need a logo to show the world it’s a great bag! Whilst you can see the Gigi brand plate on the bag, it’s usually got a fairly subtle placement and instead the silhouette, leather and your monogram take centre stage.
