As you might know, I’m a huge fan of the Monica Vinader brand. I have a lot of their jewellery and I plan on getting a lot more in the future! I love it! Their high quality piece always feel comfortable and effortless to wear and I have items which I’ve been wearing for 10+ years which are still in amazing condition because their designs are durable and the plating is thick and designed to last.
However, it’s not their designs I’m here to talk about today, it’s their sustainability promise. I worked in the jewellery industry for years and there’s not many companies who take their sustainability as seriously as Monica Vinader. So today I thought I would share a little more information with you about the amazing work they do! Let’s go!
100% Recycled Gold Vermeil and Sterling Silver
Monica Vinader jewellery is mostly made out of gold vermeil; which is Sterling Silver with a thick coating of gold over the top. This way you get the look of gold, without the tarnishing, discolouring or irritation of costume jewellery, but without the price of gold.
The lovely thing about Monica vinader jewellery is that the gold vermeil plating is really thick so it lasts incredibly well and doesn’t wear off. I rarely buy new diamond jewellery, as so many diamonds are tied up with really sad back stories. Even my engagement ring is antique because I wanted old diamonds, not new diamonds.
