Bamboo toilet paper
Cost: £48 for 48 rolls (smaller boxes are available)
Pros: Wrapped In monochrome patterned paper, made from bamboo, costs the same as the supermarket equivalent, half the profits are donated to charity, perfect for Airbnb hosts, each roll lasts ages
Cons: it’s more cost effective to buy a box of 48 rolls, but smaller homes may struggle to store so many rolls
I first started buying who gives a crap toilet paper because we had an Airbnb apartment and I thought it would be nice to give our guests who gives a crap toilet paper. I toyed with the idea of buying the cheaper recycled paper, but I figured since we were giving it to paying guests, I should buy the premium bamboo paper instead.
I was really happy with the quality and very quickly I started only buying who gives a crap toilet paper. It cost the same amount and I liked the fact it was better for the environment and my money helped them help others.
The who gives a crap bamboo paper is nice and thick (3 ply) and it’s soft without being too soft. Have you ever used super fancy toilet paper which almost doesn’t work as well because it’s too soft and doesn’t feel very absorbent?! Well this does the job and does it well!
Before I was buying who gives a crap toilet paper I was buying premium supermarket brands which cost more and don’t last as long. I can honestly say I don’t miss the premium supermarket stuff, my only regret is that I didn’t switch to who gives a crap earlier.

Recycled paper toilet paper
Cost: £44 for 48 rolls (smaller boxes are available)
Pros: Wrapped In rainbow paper, made from recycled paper – even better for the environment than bamboo paper, costs the same as the supermarket equivalent, half the profits are donated to charity, each roll lasts ages
Cons: it’s more cost effective to buy a box of 48 rolls, but smaller homes may struggle to store so many rolls, marginally less soft than the bamboo paper, paper is a light grey colour so it looks cheaper
I am new to the who gives a crap recycled toilet paper. I think at first this paper was getting some mixed reviews which was another reason why I went for the premium bamboo paper. However, that was five years ago and I’m assuming they have sorted any issues because I honestly have nothing bad to say about the recycled paper version.
This paper is made from recycled paper and is also 3ply thick, so it works well and feels nice and absorbent. The rolls last the same amount of time as the bamboo paper, but I have to admit, it is a little less premium. It’s slightly less soft than the bamboo paper and the colour is slightly more of a grey tone rather than off white. That being said, it works perfectly well, it’s nice an absorbent and I only noticed the difference when I looked at the two side by side.
Aside from costing a little less, the major advantage of the recycled paper toilet paper is that it’s even more eco friendly than the bamboo paper.
If you are buying who gives a crap toilet paper for a guest bathroom or an Airbnb or holiday let, I would recommend you spend a little more on the bamboo paper, as it is a more premium looking paper. However, if you are buying it for yourself, I would recommend either the bamboo paper or the recycled paper, as they both work super well and I personally don’t really notice the difference.

Who gives a crap toilet paper review
Finally, I just wanted to give you a quick review of Who Gives a Crap toilet paper in general! I have been a customer for over 5 years now and I absolutely love it. I am so happy to support their good work and I only wish there were more brands around who are as cool as WGAC! Sometimes brands who do great work like this are a little more expensive too, so it’s not something everyone can afford to support, so the fact that WGAC is affordable for all, is amazing too! Plus with my refer-a-friend voucher, it could actually be cheaper than regular toilet paper too!
I used to buy supermarket premium toilet paper and I don’t really notice a quality difference in WGAC compared to other toilet paper. In fact, I’ve used some premium papers I like LESS! I’m trying to give you the information without being totally TMI, but they wipe well, they absorb well and they are neither too soft, nor too abrasive. Basically, it’s perfect!
I personally, used to buy the bamboo paper, but now I have tried the recycled paper, I might make the switch to buying all recycled paper. I’m perfectly happy with the quality and because it’s even better for the environment, I’m happy to make the switch. However, if you have an airbnb apartment or you have a guest toilet or friends staying frequently, you might want the bamboo paper instead, just because it does feel a bit more premium. But I personally think the recycled paper is fine.
I would advise you to buy the larger boxes of WGAC toilet paper, as they do work out way more cost effective, but the only drawback is the size of the box. If you live in a small city apartment, you might struggle to find the storage space to keep it all, but otherwise it just means you only have to order once or twice a year and then you never have to think about toilet paper again! Which is a nice feeling… the only other option is asking someone, like a friend or family member to go halves on a box with you. That would be a great way to buy WGAC if you have limited storage space.
But aside from the storage issue, I have only amazing things to say about Who gives a crap toilet paper. The quality is great, it looks cute in my bathroom and I LOVE all the amazing work they do. And the fact that it costs me no more than regular toilet paper makes it an absolute MUST for me! I hope this review is of help!
