One small update… one big impact!

Hello friends! I am SO excited!! We have finally been able to paint our walls and I am LIVING FOR IT!!! It’s been a year since the main part of our renovation and we have been avoiding painting any of the exterior walls in order to give the lime plaster and lime render time to dry. So this week we took the plunge and finally added a splash of colour to the walls and I couldn’t be happier!

Whilst some people love a white or neutral wall, for me, it just looks unfinished. I feel like you have to work REALLY hard to pull a room with white walls together, where as a bold colour or wallpaper will do the job for you and then you can just have fun accessorising. It’s truly amazing how one tub of paint can make such a giant impact! It took one afternoon and one can of paint and boom! The space feels finished!

We used Earthborn Claypaint in Milk Jug and the colour is perfect with our Designers Guild Wallpaper in Marianne. The paint went on beautifully and the finish is stunning, really matte and really shows the slightly imperfect lime plaster off. I love it!

Friends, if you are thinking about painting your home, or even a room, a bold or bright colour. Just do it! It can be intimidating taking the plunge for the first time, but it’s never disappointing, in fact, it’s joyful! I love seeing the beautiful wash of bright blue every morning and it never fails to make me smile. The joy of paint is that it’s relatively inexpensive and if you hate it, you can paint over it!

Let me know what you think!
