Coach Jelly Bag: Is this see-through bag worth the money?!
Hello friends! Today I thought I would do a quick post about the new Coach Jelly Bag and if this see-through bag worth the money. Before we get started, I just want to point out that I LOVE Coach. I have been a customer for over 10 years now, I written oodles of blog post about their bags, made plenty of YouTube videos sharing my love of their bags and I have three of the Coach Rogue bags; each one in a different colour. They are one of my favourite brands and I honestly love what they do. This new Coach Jelly bag is a bit of a departure from what they are known and loved for, so is it worth the money? Let’s chat!

What’s so special about Coach bags?!
Coach bags are one of my favourite bag brands because their leather quality and general craftsmanship is incredible. If you compare some of their bags to the biggest fashion houses in the world, you would be surprised that Coach leather compares very favourably to them. The leather, the brass hardware, the stitching… it’s all brilliant! When you consider the price of them, you are getting a lot of bag for your buck!
Coach Jelly Bag Review
The Coach Jelly bag is a fun spin on the Coach Tabby bag which has taken the fashion world by storm over the past year or two. The original version was popular, but when the Pillow Tabby was released is when this bag became iconic. The Coach jelly bag is the newest addition to the Coach tabby family and perhaps the most fun yet. It’s a jelly bag with serious Y2K vibes. It comes in cute pastel shades with hints of glitter running through the plastic. It’s fun, fancy and a real ‘notice me’ bag.
The Coach Jelly bag is a summer bag, it’s also a very high fashion bag. It’s the kind of bag you might buy or summer 2023, but by winter 2024, you might be completely over it. That being said, if the Coach Tabby bag is still going strong in a years time (which I think it will be), there is a good chance you will enjoy it in summer 2024 too.
As I see it, here’s the low down on the Coach Jelly bag… if you are obsessed with it and can’t stop thinking about it, then by all means, buy it! Love it! Enjoy it for as long as it’s fabulous. However, is it the jelly bag a good Coach investment? Possibly not. It’s seasonal, impractical, small and above all, it’s not leather. That being said, good fashion is not all about making a wise investment, it’s about having fun and falling in love with beautiful items which make you feel fabulous when you wear them. And this bag ticks ALL the boxes! It’s also vegan and affordable, which is rare for designer handbags.
My advice is, if you love it, buy it! You know it’s not a ‘safe’ or ‘practical purchase’ so if you want it and you can afford it, go for it!

Finally, I just want to tell you about a bag I once bought which was a bit of a ‘silly purchase’ (needless to say, much like the Coach jelly bag would be considered by some). I’m going to have to take you on a time machine to 10 years ago when Jeremy Scott joined Moschino as the creative director. His first collection included the iconic McDonald’s collection which featured an amazing classic flap bag which was in red quilted leather and featured a plastic and leather chain strap and a big plastic M on the front. I. Was. Obsessed! I bought it, loved it, flaunted it and everywhere I went, people were checking out my cool bag. As time went on, it was a bag I wore less and less and instead it became a shelfie object des arts. I still loved it, but I rarely wore it. Anyway, ten years on, this bag is SO hard to find and I’ve seen it sell on eBay for more than I paid for mine. My point is, sometimes you buy ‘silly’ purchases because you love them, but in the long run, they can actually end up becoming pretty special and rare. I don’t have any plans to sell the bag, but I’m so glad I got it as even though for some it was a ‘novelty designer bag’, to me it was fabulous and I’m so happy I own it! Like I said, fashion is to feel fantastic and be fun, so feel free to repeat my story to yourself if anyone makes you feel bad about your handbag purchases because it turns out, my ‘silly’ purchase was actually a good investment! *mic drop*
Pros: Y2K vibes, fun, high fashion, wipe clean, affordable, vegan
Cons: Not timeless, see-through bags need styling on the inside, will date
