Today I want to get into it, is this bag worth this money, is it better than the classic Coach Tabby bag and will it age better than the Coach Pillow Tabby bag. We need to talk!!

Personalise it!
This bag can be personalised with your initials for a chic monogram. It usually takes only a couple of extra days to get to you if you order online, or if you visit a flagship store, it can be done on-sight, whilst you wait. And if you are like me, whilst you watch! The Coach Luggage tag which hangs off the bag is usually where the monogram would be placed, which is nice as if you ever change your name (let’s be real here, marriages and divorces play havoc with monogrammed fashion items!) you can just remove the tag and noone will ever know. Same goes if you ever decide to sell your Coach bag, you haven’t ruined it for the next person!

Coach Tabby Messenger V Coach Tabby Bag
So, the classic Coach Tabby bag is where the Coach Tabby family started and whilst I LOVE this bag SO much, I do adore the Tabby messenger for it’s casual vibes. The Classic Coach Tabby bag is cute, but a lot smarter and feels more structured and formal. Where as the messenger bag is a lot more carefree, casual and effortlessly chic. It’s much more of an ‘off duty’ or weekend look.
I guess it depends on your lifestyle which bag works the best for you, but for me, I would say the Messenger bag works best for me these days. It’s a lot more casual and relaxed, it’s a great ‘mum bag’. Where as the Coach Tabby bag is more of a city bag. It’s stunning, but it’s not where I am with my life right now.
Will the Coach Pillow Tabby bag date?!
This is a tricky one, as the Coach Pillow Tabby bag is a really specific style and it’s very ‘now’. It’s such a fashion bag which is bang on style now, meaning it won’t be in style forever. That being said, it has reached ‘iconic’ level, so I would say if you have the Coach Pillow Tabby bag, you should wear it, love it, enjoy it and then store it safely for a few years until it’s even more enviable than it is now. And if you are still thinking about buying the Pillow Tabby bag but you haven’t bought it yet, I would say this bag still has plenty of milage, so treat yourself!
What’s so special about the Coach Tabby Messenger bag?
I LOVE the Coach Tabby messenger bag! It’s exactly what I’m looking for in a bag right now; cute, vintage inspired, timeless, stunning leather and practical. It’s casual and off-duty, plus it gives me ‘this old thing, I found it in my mums closet’ vibes. And don’t we all love that heirloom look! Speaking of which, this bag was inspired by a Coach bag from the 1970’s archive.
The Coach Tabby Messenger bag comes in two sizes, the 19, which means it’s 19cm across and the classic which is around 26cm across. Personally, I think it’s all about the larger size, whilst the smaller bag is cute, the classic size feels more vintage and let’s be honest, fits more inside! Hello snacks!
This bag can be worn in two ways, one as a long shoulder bag, the other as a cross body bag. Also, I love the fact that this bag has a thicker leather strap, making it more comfortable to wear. Don’t get me wrong, I love a skinny leather strap or a chain strap, but comfort-wise, a thicker strap can’t be beaten and this bag is all about being easy, practical and carefree.
However, the thing which really draws me to the Coach Tabby Messenger bag is the stunning leather. Seriously, just look at that leathers!!! It’s stunning! And you know it’s only going to get better with age! It’s beautiful, super soft, top quality slightly aged leather. It’s the kind of leather you just don’t see enough in fashion, the kind of leather which is usually reserved for a saddle, rather than a saddle bag.
Whilst all the Coach messenger Tabby bags are beautiful, for me, it’s all about the classic size in the classic tan brown leather. What about you!?
