Molton Brown ‘Rose Dunes’ Eau de Parfum REVIEW!
I’m not even kidding. I feel like I’ve found my new favourite perfume. Molton Brown Rose Dunes is everything I love in a fragrance; it’s rich, rose filled, exotic, heavy, spicy, warm, addictive and a joy to wear. It’s the kind of perfume which I wear when I want to feel good, it lingers all day, I notice it throughout the day and it makes me feel special.
Molton Brown Rose Dunes opens with a warm, velvety hit of full bloomed red roses. They are heady and fabulous and don’t dissipate like a lot of top notes, instead they seem to just melt into the skin, becoming even warmer, almost sunbaked on the skin. Stunning. The heart is spicy saffron, it’s not a harsh saffron, it’s warm and slightly sweetened, maybe with a hint of bourbon vanilla or honey. The rose still lingers and takes centre stage, but with warmth and spice. Finally the base, a resinous, smoky oud accord. Warm, dry, exotic, intense, slightly masculine and utterly addictive. Again, adding extra layers, texture, depth and warmth to the wonderful roses.
If you love exotic, dark rose filled fragrances like penhaligon’s Halfeti or Floris Rose Oud, the. I think you will love Molton Brown Rose Dunes. It’s wonderful!
