Hello friends! Today I want to do a Zatchels Micro Plus Satchel review AND share a 15% discount code! This is such a cute bag and I’m so obsessed with it! I have always seen micro satchels as a little too small, but this plus version still has the look, but it’s a little more practical and ageless. Today I want to do a full review of the Zatchels Micro plus satchel and share how to style it, how much it costs, a quality review, what fits inside, sale details and SO much more!! My friends… let’s chat!

How to style

This mini satchel can be worn as a top handle bag, a shoulder bag or a cross body bag, but personally, I think it looks best as a cross body bag. There’s something SO cute about it worn this way and I think it lends itself perfectly to this style. It’s really cute in the summer or winter, depending on the colour you go for and it looks equally cute worn in a preppy way with a blazer and smart jeans, or with a cute 60’s style dress and beret. Depending on the colour you choose, it can either blend into your look or be the centre piece of the outfit.

What fits inside

The micro bag is admittedly pretty small and has a fairly limited interior space. It’s perfect for a phone, card holder wallet, lipstick and maybe a portable phone charger and cable. Of course you can slip in the odd extra thing like a hair bobble and airpods, but not much more.

What satchel colours are the best?

  • black
  • brown
  • tan
  • oxblood
  • white / off white
  • pink
  • pale blue
  • red
  • mustard
  • lilac

Zatchels Micro Plus Satchel Review

I have such a soft spot for Zatchels bags… I mean, what’s not to love?! They are made of leather, using traditional leather manufacturing processes, they are a fair price AND they are made in the UK. Plus… they are cute AF!! Hello!! That’s amazing!!

I think my favourite EVER Zatchels bag has to be the amazing Rainbow pastel bag, it’s so flippin’ cute, read my review here! But my only criticisms with it are that it’s more of a summer bag, and it’s not an every day bag because the cute pastel tones mean it can only be worn with a pretty specific colour of outfit – either all white or all pastels. It’s worth it because it’s amazing, but I do have a bit of a Zatchels hole in my wardrobe for something a little more versatile… enter the Zatchels mini satchel!

First up, let’s chat quality. This bag is made from the classic structured leather of a satchel. It is treated so it’s pretty robust and wipes clean, and whilst it’s quite hard at first, it does soften over time. The finish has a slight sheen, which again, will soften over the years, but the good thing about it is that it is durable and it is easier to clean. Although, as with all handbags, avoid having biro pens anywhere near it, as they are the easiest and worst way to ruin a nice bag. I digress. As for the stitching, it’s always perfect, hopefully you can see this in the images. And the branding is a subtle label at the front, again, visible in the photos.

The bag has a long adjustable removable shoulder strap. Personally, my hands are too big to wear it as a top handle bag and I think it looks too mini for my frame worn this way too. But I LOVE it worn as a cross body bag as then it looks cute and also suits my body shape better. Of course, if you are smaller than me, you have more options. But for me, this is exclusively a cross body bag.

I have this bag in the lilac / lavender colour, which I LOVE, but there is actually 24 colours to choose from! Which is amazing, but personally, I think it’s a blessing and a curse! It can be SO hard to choose and honestly, I want a full selection of colours, but I would say if you aren’t sure, go for the pink, lilac, black, tan, mustard, chalk or pale blue, but if you need more guidance, I wrote a post about the Zatchels best sellers here.

In terms of the Zatchel micro bag v the micro plus bag, personally, I think the Micro plus bag is far superior. It’s still cute, but it’s so much more wearable and practical, plus I think in terms of longevity, the micro plus can be worn for years to come, where as the micro feels like more of a trend bag. The micro is cool, but the micro plus is cute and more practical. I also think it looks a little less youthful. IMO!

What’s the price and is worth the money?

The Zatchels micro satchel is priced at £75 but it is currently £60 on sale. Which is a bargain price for well-made bag which is all leather and made in the uk. Its always worth keeping an eye on the zatchels sales as they have great ones! Plus lets be honest, £60 on the high street barely buys you a canvas tote bag these days, but because Zatchels are pretty much direct to consumer these days, their prices are way more competitive for that reason.
