Five things that have bought me JOY recently!
Hello friends! Today I thought I would do a quick post on things that have sparked joy lately and to make it even happier, I picked things which are as budget friendly as possible… except curtains, but I’m sure you already have curtains, so good for you! Let’s get into it!
Rhyme time at the Library
I take Mary to the local libraries twice a week for rhyme time and we both love it! Each session is half an hour long, we sing nursery rhymes and have a chat to other local mums. It’s really fun, everyone is super friendly and it’s free. If you have a baby or toddler and you feel like you want to get out a little more but you haven’t found a baby or toddler group that you like, then I can’t recommend the local library rhyme times enough! It’s honestly a highlight of the week!
This weekend we hung some curtains in our house. My mum has been working on them for weeks and the house already looks and feels homelier and they aren’t even all up yet. It’s honestly getting me excited for cosy season.
We cooked a ham!
This weekend Jon and I roasted a ham for my parents visit and it was SO much fun! Yes, I know it’s a total christmas dish, but it was super nice to have a ham to welcome them after a long journey and dig into for lunches and snacks. I’m already planning my next ham recipe!
My new-to-me charity shop dress
I found a dress in a charity shop a few weeks ago and it was a little more than I’d usually pay (£8) but I knew it would be a good shape on me and it had pockets so I went for it! It’s one of those dresses what I’ve worn so much in such a short time, that it makes me wonder what I wore before I bought it. Just a reminder, there is still good stuff in charity shops, you just have to keep going in and looking! You won’t get a haul every week, but you might get something you love every other visit!
First Wives Club
I know this is a film that everyone already knows and loves, but I am super new to it and I love it so much!! This is your reminder to watch it next time you are stuck in a TV rut. Oh and before you ask, yes, it’s on Netflix!
Thank you for reading my Five things that have bought me JOY recently (+ budget friendly! post. I hope it brought a little sunshine into your day!
