This is the hill I will die on: Magnolia does not get the respect it deserves!

Maybe it’s the name and the paint colour connotations, but whatever it is, magnolia is an unappreciated accord. It’s a majestic white floral which is as perfect and iconic as a rose, but with more of a champagne twist. Both are regal florals, but if rose is velvet, magnolia is silk.

The main accord of Acqua di Parma Magnolia Infinita is of course magnolia, which is glorious, but there is a lot of other ingredients in this perfume which dance around the magnolia and add a little extra ‘something something’. They don’t take the shine away from the magnolia, instead they add to it, giving additional florals, sunshine, elegance and grace.

To my nose, the dominant notes of this perfume are magnolia, jasmine, bergamot, ylang ylang and musk on the dry down. The bergamot, with accompanying lemon, adds a freshness and a smokiness. The ylang ylang adds a greenness and reminds me of orange blossom, without overpowering the magnolia. The jasmine and rose add a little extra floral depth and the musk gives it a warm, subtle sensuality. Also, it’s not mentioned, but I get a slight elderflower note, maybe it’s the champagne element of the magnolia, but I’m sure it’s there, and it’s lovely!

If you are wondering how it differs to ADP’s Magnolia Nobile, then I would say it’s slightly less sweet, there’s less of a rose accord and its generally a little more grown up and refined.

Acqua di Parma Magnolia Infinita is wonderful white floral fragrance which is modern and classic all at once. If you love white florals and crave something timeless, which hasn’t yet been adopted by the masses, then this truly could be the perfect perfume for you! Similarly, if you are on the hunt for the perfect wedding fragrance, then I urge you to try this one. It’s only just been released, so even if you are a fan of Acqua di Parma, then you probably aren’t familiar with it yet. It’s truly delightful!
