Roja ‘Apex’
Hello friends!! Today I want to do a quick review of the brand new mens Roja Parfums fragrance; Apex. As you might know, I’m a huge fan of Roja parfums and it’s pretty much all my boyfriend wears. He used to spend a lot on Tom Ford, ADP and Penhaligons and now he’s wearing Roja 95% of the time! What can I say… we are mega fans! When I heard there was a new fragrance in town, I jumped at the chance to test it out, and of course… he did too! Let’s go!

Roja ‘Apex’ Review
Roja Apex is part of the Parfum Cologne collection, along side fragrance like Elysium and the Pour Homme editions of Danger, Scandal and Enigma. These fragrances retail for around £265 for a 100ml bottle, rather than around £375 for a 50ml bottle. In general, these fragrances are made with the same high quality ingredients, but they tend to be a little less intense, a little less complex and a little more wearable for every day. Personally, I still prefer the magic and intensity of the original collection, but I know a lot of people prefer the Parfum Colognes, not just for the prices, but for the wearability too. Sometimes I think of the Parfum Colognes as every day fragrances, and the parfums as special occasion scents. Anyway, let’s chat about Apex!!
Apex is a fresh, green woodsy, earthy fragrance for men. It reminds me of forests with a hint of an aquatic accord, on a deep, dark, complex base. It reminds me a little of Fetish, but more pine-y, ethereal and casual.
Apex opens with a fresh burst of smoky bergamot, pine and citrus notes. The heart has almost a herbaceous, apothecary-esque feel with it’s florals, spice, woods and something which reminds me of fennel and driftwood.
At the base of the fragrance is where the magic is. Once the citrus has lifted and the base unfurls, you find a complex and magical blend of rich earthy fir, woods, tobacco, resins, leather, ambergris and musk. Some of these notes are present throughout the fragrance, like the pine, but others we only meet later on, like the ambergris and tobacco.
I LOVE Apex, it’s a stunning mens fragrance which is a perfect addition to the perfumery. If you like Elysium, but you want something a little more green, then this could be it, or if you like Fetish, but you want something a little more casual and earthy (and less sexy) then I urge you to try it! It’s one of my personal favourites of the Cologne Parfums and I hope you love it as much as I do! God bless Roja! I love his creations so much!
