Liz Earle Probiotic Balancing Skincare Review
Hello friends!! Today I want to give a full Liz Earle Probiotic Balancing Skincare Review! This is the latest skincare range from Liz Earle and I have recently been using it and LOVING it and I want to tell you WHY!! This is a three-piece collection of a Probiotic Cleanser, Day Cream and Night Cream. You can mix in a serum, SPF and eye cream from another Liz Earle collection, to complete your routine, but this collection is all about getting back to basics; it’s super soothing, nourishing, balancing and restorative. Exactly what you need when you skin is naturally sensitive, or your skin is confused by the change or season, or there’s a hormonal change which is making your skin a little temperamental – like pregnancy. Anyway, I’m going to chat a little about the collection and why I love it so much and why it might be perfect for you!

A NEW Liz Earle Cleanser
Can you believe Liz Earle created her iconic Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser over 25 years ago!? Since it’s debut it’s been reimagined with different limited edition fragrances and super sized version, but aside from that, it’s stayed unchanged and undefeated as the worlds’ fave hot cloth cleanser! It’s won over 130 beauty awards over the years and is worth every shred of hype! In fact, it’s so popular and so iconic, Liz Earle has not released a new cleanser for years until now because they know the classic can’t be beaten!
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish V Probiotic Balancing Milk Cleanser
So, what’s different about the new Liz Earle Pro-Biotic Balancing cleanser, compared to the classic Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth cleanser? Well first up, the new Pro-Biotic Balancing cleanser is a lighter weight, more milky texture. It also removes easily with water, where as the cleanse and polish is much richer and can’t be removed without a hot cloth, which is obviously a lot more abrasive if your skin is sensitive. The new Pro-Biotic Balancing Cleanser is also great for the morning and evening, where as I wold say the classic Cleanse & Polish is more of a night time cleanser.
Next up, the fragrance, this is a big one as I LOVE the scent of the uplifting Eucalyptus of the classic Cleanse & Polish, where as the new Pro-Biotic Balancing cleanser is fragrance free and has more of a natural ‘oaty’ fragrance to it. I do love the smell of the classic, but the fragrance free version is much better for sensitive skins.
Finally, it’s just got a really soothing, calming, gentle feel to it and it leaves skin feeling clean, protected and slightly hydrated. Unlike the original version, there’s no ‘polish’ part to this cleanser (although you could of course use it with a hot cloth as and when you feel it’s necessary) but it’s not a requirement for removal. So, not only is the formula a lot more gentle and soothing with it’s fragrance free, light milky texture, but also the fact it gently rinses off with water is perfect for more dry, sensitive and more irritable skins.

Pregnancy Skin: Dry, Sensitive & Prone to Irritation
Right now I’m heavily pregnant and the whole way through pregnancy I’ve been REALLY careful with my skin as it’s felt a little more dry, sensitive and prone to irritation than usual. I haven’t wanted to use anything harsh on my skin (no acids, peels or nothing more than a light exfoliation once a week) and instead I’ve keeping my skincare as natural as possible and focusing my attention on nourishing products to hydrate, soothe and nourish my skin. So this new Liz Earle Skincare routine is perfect for me, literally… PERFECT! But don’t worry, you don’t have to be pregnant to use it, it’s suitable for all skin types and I will be continuing to use it after the baby arrives, but I just wanted to give you a heads up on the current state of my dry sensitive skin and how it’s been the perfect solution for it.
Liz Earle Probiotic Day Cream Review
Let’s move onto the new Liz Earle Probiotic Day Cream, the next step in the collection. Since there is no serum in the range, I have added in my own hydrating serum, but if you are a simple kinda gal you could skip straight from the cleanser to the cream. This face cream is lovely, it’s the perfect balance between feeling light on the skin and absorbing fast, but also feeling like it’s giving your skin a good hit of hydration. Like the cleanser it’s fragrance free, but it does have a slightly oaty smell to it, much like the cleanser. Personally I don’t mind it, and my sense of smell is pretty strong at the moment, but I did notice in the reviews that some people were less keen. For me, it was fine, I like oats, I drink oat milk lattes, it was just a subtle oaty smell which didn’t excite or offend me, plus there’s a reason for the oaty smell which we will discuss in a moment!
Anyway, the cream is lovely, it’s packed full of brilliant ingredients like chicory, jojoba oil, Lunaria oil and of course… OATS! The reason for the oats is that they are fermented and act as both a pro and post-biotic, making it brilliant for the skin. There is also something balancing and soothing about the oats too, they almost remind me of chamomile lotion. In short, it is a really lovely, hydrating simple, gentle face cream which is perfect for tired, dry, stressed, sensitive and irritable skin. If I could afford to, I’d be rubbing it on my bump three times a day too, as my tummy skin could do with a little soothing hydration too!

Liz Earle Probiotic Night Cream Review
In the evening, I have been using a little of the Liz Earle Probiotic Cleanser, followed by a serum or face oil and then a layer of the Liz Earle Probiotic Night Cream. As I mentioned, my skin is really dry and sensitive at the moment, and the central heating is only making it worse. So, to give my skin a real treat, some nights I use not just one, but two layers of this night cream and I LOVE it! It layers up beautifully with itself and really gives an extra level of hydration, nourishment and protection. One layer is great, but two layers is *chefs kiss*! It’s especially good as pregnant ladies have to sleep on their sides and it really helps protect my face from my pillows.
Much like the day cream, the Liz Earle Probiotic Night Cream is filled with hard-working pre, pro and post-biotic ingredients of chicory, jojoba oil, Lunaria oil and oats. It’s fragrance free, but does smell slightly oaty – again, I don’t mind it and the oats are working hard for my skin! And it’s just a lovely, hydrating, nourishing, calming, soothing overnight cream! I can’t say enough good things about it! And if you are super dry like I am, I would recommend using two layers a couple of nights a week to give yourself an extra treat. Just give it a few minutes in-between layers to let it soak in!
