TOM FORD ‘Oud Minerale’ Review

Hello friends! Today I want to have a quick chat about Tom Ford’s ‘Oud Minerale’ and why it’s my perfect Tom Ford perfume for Summer! 

When I look at my Tom Ford fragrance collection, I see rich, smoky, leathery, intense perfumes. If I had to characterise it, I could call it ‘Winter Oud Opulence’; which is wonderful in the colder months, but trickier in the Summer months. Whilst Mr Ford has created some iconic Summer perfumes, for me, I am always drawn to his oud, leather and rich-floral based fragrances like Oud Wood, Leather Oud and Cafe Rose. 

The magic of Tom Ford Oud Minerale (you can find it at The Perfume Shop) is that it gives me all the deep, woodsy, oud accords I love, but with a cool coastal twist. It contains notes darker, deeper more mysterious notes of oud, wood and spicy pepper, which remind me of all my favourite Tom Ford fragrances, but this time with a cold breezy and salty, beachy twist. It’s a beautiful blend of the dark, intense, rich notes he’s known for, but with a slightly lighter, more coastal lift. Imagine Tom Ford’s Oud Wood, with a heavy hit of seasalt, seaweed, driftwood, sage and pine and it will get you somewhere close to Tom Ford Oud Minerale. That’s not to say it’s a ‘summery’ perfume, it’s actually perfect for all year round, but it’s one of the few Tom Ford fragrances I own, which I can truly wear all-seasons. Aside from that, you should know that it’s got wonderful longevity, as you would expect from the brand and it’s perfect for both men and women; my boyfriend and I are already fighting over it!
