My friends! Today I want to do a little Coach May Bag review. As you might know, I love Coach and this new handbag silhouette is really getting me hot under the collar. It reminds me a little of the Willow Shoulder bag mixed with the Coach tabby bag. Imagine the Tabby but a little more room and a little more slouchy! In short, it’s stunning! Let’s chat about this bag! I’m so excited for this one!

This Coach May bag comes in a selection of colour ways; Black, white, brown, tan, navy and blush pink. All colour ways come with brass hardware and is made from a beautiful grainy pebble leather.
Three Ways To Wear
The Coach May bag can be worn as a short length shoulder bag with a shorter shoulder strap, or you can leave the shorter shoulder strap to hang down and you can attach the detachable long shoulder strap and wear this bag as either a longer length shoulder bag or a crossbody bag. Coach love giving us options of how to wear their bags and I love it!
What Fits Inside The Coach May Bag
The Coach May Bag measures around 11.5 inches wide by just over 8 inches tall and almost 5 inches deep, so this is what I would describe as a mid-size handbag. It’s also a very slouchy bag which helps you squeeze more in and it has just one main section, which again, is very helpful for fitting more inside. I personally find the more internal sections, the more space those sections take up and the less you get inside. So this is my kind of bag! As for what fits inside, you can get a lot in here; purse, phone, keys, iPad mini, book, small compact camera, gloves, phone charger, it’s a bit of a Mary Poppin’s bag!

Coach always use amazing quality leather but in my opinion, the grainy pebble leather which the Coach May Bag is made from is the best quality leather that coach use. It’s hard wearing, thick, beautiful and fabulous!

How To Style The Coach May Bag
To me, the Coach May Bag is a real go-anywhere, wear-with-anything kinda bag! You can wear it with a suit or formal business outfit to the office, or you can team it with jeans and a cute jumper for a casual weekend look. Or if you are like me, keep things simple with a vintage floral dress and the Coach May bag for a simple feminine lunch-with-the-girls look. You can dress her up or down and she looks great with pretty much everything and anything, the only thing I would say is keep the longer shoulder strap for more casual looks!
Coach May Shoulder Bag Review
To me, the Coach May bag is the big sister of the Coach Tabby bag; she’s beautiful, chic and elegant. However, she’s a little more grown up, she has a few more responsibilities and she wants a little less colour in her wardrobe and a little more space in her handbag. Do you know what I mean?! She has a lot of the same details of the Coach Tabby bag, the same double strap with multiple ways to wear, the flap style bag and of course, the stunning brass ‘C’ clasp hardware. However, she’s more of a mid-sized bag, a little more practical and a little more mature. You could wear her to pick the kids up from school, to get your Waitrose groceries or to the office. The Coach May bag would also be a great office / commuter bag as she fits a lot more inside like snacks, phone charger, book and iPad mini. Where as the Tabby bag you have to be a little more compact with your travel kit.
One thing I LOVE about the May bag is the leather. She’s made out of my favourite of all the Coach leathers, a stunning grainy pebble leather, in my opinion it’s the best quality and lasts the best. I love the thickness of it, the durability and the equestrian feel it has. It’s so beautiful, sure it’s not as smooth as other leathers but I adore it!
Finally, the price, the Coach May bag is a bit of a steal, it’s £395, however at the moment you can get 20% off with their spring / summer promo code and even when that’s not on, you can get 10% off by signing up to the mailing list, making the bag either around £320 or £360, which I think is incredible! Personally I love this bag, almost more than the Coach tabby bag as I know I would use it a lot, however, I do miss all the leather and detail options. Personally, I would love to see the May bag in a metallic leather, just one, just for fun! But regardless, I LOVE this bag and it’s a wonderful addition to the Coach family! What do you think?

If you like the Coach May bag but you don’t 100% feel it’s for you, then I wanted to recommend some other similar bags you might like from the brand. First up, The Tabby bag!! The May bag feels like the big sister of the Tabby bag; Slightly bigger, softer, sloucher and maybe a little more grown up, but they are very similar bags. Also, the Tabby comes in a lot more fun and exciting colour ways, possibly because it is a slightly more youthful bag, but either way, it’s worth checking out the Tabby bag!
Next up, the Coach Willow Shoulder Bucket bag, this is also a easy, slouchy but cool handbag, it’s a mid-size bag which fits lots inside but possibly a little less branded in terms of it’s design. The Willow is also a little cheaper than the May, just so you know!
Finally, I love the Coach Beat bag and I think this could have a lot of the same advantages to the Coach May Bag. It’s a saddle bag silhouette, a little more structured and a little more ‘fashion’. You can wear it as a cross body or tuck it under your arm and it’s very classic and cool. It’s perhaps a little more youthful than the May bag and it fits a little less in, but if you don’t carry too much around with you, you might enjoy a slightly smaller sized bag. Either way, I LOVE the Beat bag!
