Let’s Chat About The Coach Willow Shoulder Bag! (Review)

My friends! I hope you are well! Today I thought I would stop by and do a Let’s Chat About The Coach Willow Shoulder Bag! (Review). As you might have noticed, I am a HUGE Coach fan, their clothes are a dream, their shoes and trainers are super cool and I LOVE the quality and design of the bags. They have had a major resurgence over the past few years and Creative director, Stuart Ververs is AMAZING! I’m love their 70’s New York City vibes and their craftsmanship can’t be beaten. So today, I want to have a quick chat about the new Coach Willow Shoulder bag… Are you ready?!

Coach Willow Bag: Inspiration

The Coach Willow bag is designed to be a go-anywhere bag. It’s not too big, not too small and it’s perfectly sized for all your every day essentials without being cumbersome. It’s made out of polished pebble leather which is my favourite of all the Coach leathers, it’s thick, textured, hardwearing and incredibly good quality. The Coach Willow bag reminds me a little of a cross between the Coach Shay bag and the Lora bucket bag. It’s also very similar to the Charlie bucket bag, but the clasp is a turnlock C clasp. Personally, I think of the Coach Willow bag as a younger, cooler version of the Shay or Charlie bag.

What's The Difference Between The Coach Willow & Shay Bag?

What’s The Difference Between The Coach Willow & Shay Bag?

This season has seen Coach release two slouchy style bags, the Willow & The Shay. Personally, I think the two have a lot of similarities, but what are the major differences. The Shay bag is more of a slouchy hobo bag, where as the Willow is more of a slouchy bucket bag. The Shay has no branding on the outside (apart from the very subtle removable luggage tag) where as the Willow bag has the Coach ‘C’ Turnlock style clasp.

Three Ways To Wear

The Coach Willow bag comes with two shoulder straps so it can be worn as a shorter length shoulder bag or as a longer length shoulder bag. Also, the strap is adjustable so it can also be worn as a cross body bag. Alternatively it can be worn in the crock of your arm like all the Instagram gals!

Design Options

The Coach Willow bag comes in for colour ways this season. Choose between signature print coated canvas, black, chalk or maroon. All the hardware is made of brass and the straps are detachable as is the luggage tag. It has four protective feet at the base and measures 12″ long by 9″ tall and 4″ deep. The shorter strap has a 6″ drop and the longer strap is around 21″ long as it’s adjustable.

My Thoughts On The Coach Willow Shoulder Bag

The Coach Willow bag is brand new to the Coach collection and personally I LOVE it! It reminds me of a bucket bag, but it’s got a little more structure to it. Plus it has more compartments on the inside so you can organise better, as sometimes bucket bags are a nightmare for finding your bits and bobs. It’s easy to carry over your shoulder or as a cross body bag. Plus, I LOVE the pebble leather, it’s so thick and luxe and hardwearing. Finally, the Coach Willow bag is simple, chic, luxe and perfect for all seasons and can be worn casually or formally.

    Hi Kirsty!
I’m so glad I found this. As ever I am about to make an investment on a Shay, been thinking about it just waiting for the right time, and then Willow showed up, and I am torn.

Okay, what I am looking for is a day bag that works for work (duh) and beyond, including weekends with my two kids. I’ve eyeball the bags since I am looking to be able to carry a 13″ laptop in it too. Now I know, its kind of pushing it, but I really want to make my first Coach purchase that I can use like, ALL the time.

I think these both are tagged at AUD650 where I am and that’s quite an investment to me. SO, yeah, would reeally like to hear from you about my dilemma.
