IT’S SPOOKY SEASON!
I know you aren’t going to believe me, but I honestly wasn’t planning to decorate our house for halloween this year. I figured it was a bit pointless considering we won’t have trick or treaters and I didn’t want to buy £300 of pumpkins for our porch. No, really, I LOVE seeing oodles of amazing pumpkins on display outside houses, but mannnn they must spend a lot and waste a lot of pumpkins at the end of the season! Anyway, the next thing I knew, I was in Hobbycraft buying up the last of their halloween goodies and filling a basket with Co-op pumpkins and calling myself a hypocrite. Can I really make use 5 whole pumpkins once halloween is over?! Fast forward a couple of hours and my hallways looked like this… like a 5 year old got busy!
Halloween Home Mini Makeover!
Personally, I try to keep my halloween decorations cheap and cheerful, as much as I would LOVE giant spiders and skeletons, those things cost a fortune and I don’t think they would even fit through my loft hatch, so that’s a bit of a no-go for me! I also try to only buy the kinds of pumpkins you can eat so I don’t feel super wasteful with the ornamental kinds. I love scattering pumpkins around the house, on the kitchen table, on the fireplace and basically anywhere and everywhere they spark joy. Finally, Halloween isn’t halloween without a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts…which are on my shopping list!
My halloween home makeover tips:
- Have fun
- Don’t overthink it
- Cook something delicious with your pumpkins when you’re done!
