Atelier Cologne ‘Orange Sanguine’ Cologne Review

My friends! Today I want to do an Atelier Cologne ‘Orange Sanguine’ Cologne review. I am a huge fan of Atelier Cologne fragrances and over the last few years I have featured nearly all of them across my blog and YouTube… which is a LOT!

Anyway, Atelier Cologne are known for their effortlessly elegant, sunshine filled citrus scents and I had been recommended Orange Sanguine so many times by my subscribers, so I thought it was time I shared a little review with you all. I’m a huge fan of another orange based fragrance in their collection, Clementine California, so I was excited to see how Orange Sanguine compared!

So, let’s discuss Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine Cologne; this fragrance opens with hit of fresh, ripe, busting with life orange notes. It’s green with leaves, tangy, fresh and tantalising. It smells like health, nature and sunshine, with a hint of old fashioned soap (in a good way, I promise!). The heart is geranium, which is perhaps where I’m getting the slightly clean soapy vibes as well as the slightly lemony, green florals. It’s not really mentioned, but I find myself wondering if this fragrance also contains a hint of petit grain and lavender at the heart too. Finally, at the base, there is a dry down of sandalwood which is warm, woodsy and earthy and even long after the top notes have mostly dispersed, there’s still a soft orangey twist to the sandalwood which is really wonderful.

If you love orange-based fragrances and you are looking for something rich with sunshine and has hints of petit-grain, lemon, geranium and earthy, woodsy notes, then this is Wonderful! Compared to Clementine California, I would say this fragrance is slightly more green and perhaps a little less playful and instead a little more mature and elegant. Also, whilst both fragrances are unisex, I personally think that Clementine California might appeal to slightly more women than men and Orange Sanguine might appeal to slightly more men than women. Personally, I love them both and there’s a richness and a depth to Orange Sanguine which I really love, especially as we start to transition into Autumn. Whilst Clementine California is pure summer, Orange Sanguine has a hint of orange bitter cocktails to the dry down which gives it summer vibes as well as cosy fireside vibes. Obviously, I love it!

…And there we have it, my Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine Cologne Review! I hope you like this post! Thank you SO much for reading and if you have any questions, please do let me know! If you want to buy this fragrance, you can get it at John Lewis. Also, this post contains affiliate links and press samples.
