Let’s Chat Coach!
My friends, I’m back again with a post of one of my favourite fashion brands and answering the question… Is Coach A Good Brand? As you might know, I’m a big fan of Coach and today I want to share a few thoughts with you on their brand, designs, quality, stores and so much more! Grab a coffee, let’s go!

My Coach Story
I feel like Coach have always been a ‘known’ brand, they were huge in the 90’s and forever known as a solid, American Heritage, mid-range brand. I personally put them in a category with brands like Guess and Calvin Klein. In my mind they were all American, all a mid-range designer level and all three brands loved a monogram print. If truth be told, in my teens and twenties, I would not be caught dead with a Coach bag. It was not for me, not back then. These days however, I’m a big fan!
Why the change of heart? Well, they got cool! They have a new Creative Director who is amazing, shout out to Stuart Ververs! Who has done an amazing job of making the brand cool and relevant and at the heart of the brand is quality, heritage and craftmanship. So even if you don’t love the Coach logo, you will love their quality and finish. Over the past few years, their designs have taken heavy inspiration from the 70’s and they have made some beautiful clothes and dug deep into their archive to refresh some older designs which still look and feel really relevant today. Whilst I still wouldn’t wear CK or Guess, I run to Coach. I love their clothes and I love their bags!

Is Coach A Good Brand?
Coach have come a long way since the 90’s, not because they turned their back on their heritage, but because they embraced it! They have doubled down on the quality and craftsmanship which made them a household name back in the 70’s, and combined it with a touch of the 90’s streetwear brand-tastic monogram print. In 2020, Coach is a perfect mix of modern, vintage and high quality. Whilst it’s not as high end as Chanel, Louis or Hermes, nor as expensive as Gucci or Dior, it still sits a tier below and there is nothing wrong with that. A Coach bag is still great quality, I would actually argue some Coach bags are better quality than some Gucci bags (BURNNNN! But it’s true!!) and also half the price of a brand like Mulberry with similar quality levels, especially if you compare the Rogue to the Bayswater. For me, Coach sits above Kate Spade, Furla and Michael Kors, and on a par with brands like MCM, Mulberry and Moschino.
Is Coach or Kate Spade better?
Coach and Kate Spade are both owned by the same company, Tapestry. I love Kate Spade for it’s playful designs, fun colour palette and cute creations, but I would say Coach is better quality than Kate Spade. Also, Kate Spade bags are super fun, but more seasonal and date faster, where as Coach bags are a little more classic and more of a long-term purchase. You are far less likely to get bored of a Coach Rogue bag than you are of a Kate Spade bubble bee shaped basket bag. I do love Kate Spade and I have quite a few pieces of KS in my wardrobe, but Coach is a better brand and also more of a long term fashion investment, rather than a seasonal splurge!

Why You Should Invest In A Coach Bag!
I could give you SO many reasons why you should invest in a Coach bag, but for me, I love their bags for a few main reasons, first up, the quality! The quality is amazing, especially of the styles like the Rogue, Tabby, Dreamer and Parker which sit at the top end of Coach. I especially love the thick pebble leathers which are amazing quality and the super soft lambskins. I also love their designs, they are practical, cool and wearable. Also, you can take a Coach bag anywhere; work, a festival, to the supermarket and you will never feel under or over-dressed. I love their playfulness of their colours and designs, they often mix textures, prints and colours which is really fun and finally… this is a big one for me, Coach bags are sturdy!!! They are built to last, designed to be used and you don’t have to worry. You can just throw your junk in and live your life without panicking about a drop of rain or colour transfer or bird poop. They are built for living and I LOVE that! After years of panicking over my Chanel Lambskin bags and embellished details, it feels SO refreshing to use a bag which I truly can use!

Are Coach Bags Good Quality?
I know we have kind of touched on this already, but 100% yes! Coach bags are great quality! Especially the pebble leather bags in styles like the Rogue, Dreamer, Tabby or Parker. With bags like that you literally are getting Mulberry quality at half the price. There’s a reason why Coach are still flying high after all these years because they are a quality brand at fair prices and people like me, LOVE them!
Is Coach Considered Luxury?
Yes they are! Their leathers are beautiful, their finish is flawless and their designs are modern and exciting. They are not as top-end as Chanel or Hermes, but they are still a high quality luxury brand you can be proud to invest in. They count Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Michael B Jordan and Ariana Grande as some of their high profile ambassadors and their retain their value well on the pre-loved market. If that’s not luxury, what is!?

Why Buy A Designer Handbag?
Finally, I just wanted to touch on a FAQ, Why Buy A Designer Handbag? Because they make us feel good and we enjoy wearing them. It’s something beautiful and exciting to save up for and treat yourself to, and if you make the right decision you can find a handbag which will give you years, or even decades of use and pleasure and end up costing the same as 20 high street handbags and giving you a lot more joy. Also, if you buy less but buy better, it’s actually better for the planet too!
