Goldfield & Banks ‘Blue Cypress’ Review…

My friends! Today I want to share a quick review of Goldfield & Banks ‘Blue Cypress’ with you all! Now typically, this isn’t my usual style of fragrance as I like something a little more heavy-hitting, rose, oud and amber filled. So this is the opposite to my usual style, however, I had to share it as it’s one of the best no-fragrance-fragrances I’ve tried in ages. It’s also a little bit of a secret gem and when I trialled it, it begged the question: WHY IS NO-ONE TALKNG ABOUT THIS FRAGRANCE. So I’m here, doing the perfumery fragrance gods’ work. Is that a thing?

Goldfield & Banks are an Australian brand and there’s something about this fragrance which feels understated, warm, fresh, coastal and effortlessly cool. It opens with a hit of fresh, slightly smoky bergamot and a slightly unexpected hit of crisp, clean hervacious aniseed. The heart is made up of fresh and clean eucalyptus, soothing lavender and slightly sharp, liquorish-y star anise. As for the base, it’s woodsy and spicy, with a fresh and coastal twist.

Goldfield & Banks ‘Blue Cypress’ is a unisex fragrance which is zingy, warm, coastal, fresh and uplifting. It smells like warm days, coastal breeze, unspoilt landscapes, lazy days and adventures. It’s casual and quiet, but self-assured. It’s contains high quality ingredients which make you think of yachts rather than rubber dinghies, y’know what I mean? Personally, I think of it as more of a mens fragrance than a womens’ fragrance, but it’s perfect for either. If you love fragrances like Jo Malone’s ‘Wood Sage & Sea Salt’ or Shay & Blue’s ‘Sicilian Limes’ or Clean Reserves ‘Rain’, then I think this one might be for you. It’s fresh, relaxed, understated, effortless but noticeably lovely and slightly unexpected in the best possible way! One of the best no-fragrance-fragrances I’ve tried in ages, enjoy!
