My friends!! I’m so excited to share this perfume with you, I’m head over heels in love with it and I *think* it’s my favourite of all the Maison Margiela Replica perfumes, well, all the ones I’ve tried anyway! I’ve posted a youtube video about this fragrance, which you can watch here, but I couldn’t resist doing a blog post about it too!
Maison Margiela Replica ‘By The Fireplace’ is like a warm, cosy fire enjoyed with a serving of homemade marshmallows. It’s like a cuddle; warm, smoky, comforting and quietly flickering with the scent of the most perfectly scented long-burning woods. It’s leathery and enveloping, without being too smoky, heavy, rich or masculine. It’s quieter and softer than you might imagine, more cosy, less flamey. To off-set the smoke, woods and leather, there’s a slightly boozy, treacly, vanilla marshmallow like accord, it’s sweet, warm, soft and elegant. It side-steps smelling like candle and instead smells rich and almost like a vanilla and brandy cocktail. It’s wonderfully warm, rich and leathery and cosy, there’s a touch of spice with the sweetness and hints of fruit-infused woods. A true delight and joyful for anyone who loves a rich, woodsy, spicy, leathery fragrance like me. It’s less intense than Tom Ford fragrances, but the same wonderful quality. If you love brands like TD, Amouroud and Roja, then this might be right up your street! Oh and on my skin, it’s a little more sweet and delicious and on my boyfriend’s skin it’s a little more leathery and woodsy. It’s safe to say, we both love it equally!
