My friends! Where did the month go?! I truly have no idea, although looking back I managed to cram a fair bit into it! From a trip to Norfolk to a feature with Rightmove, to buying a stunning new rug and getting a haircut. It’s been a wild ride! Lol! Anyway, let’s start with one of my favourite topics… PODCASTS! This month I have been listening to Chasing Crosby which is an amazing but also utterly shocking, but it’s very interesting and a really well researched and put together podcast. I’ve also been enjoying the A Beautiful Mess podcast and Family Secrets. Aside from that, I’ve relistened to Root of Evil, just because I enjoyed it so much the first time round! Oh and there is also new episodes of old favourites; Filling The Void and We Need To Talk About Britney.
I’ve been tempted for a vintage rug for a while now and constantly stalking eBay, Etsy and instagram stores for the perfect one. I wanted a really big sized rug which almost filled the room and I knew I wanted it a colour, but I wasn’t sure what colour. Eventually I just took the plunge and bought one ‘buy it now’ from eBay and hoped for the best! Probably not the best thought out plan but I have to say, I’m thrilled with it! It was spotlessly clean and even had the original tag on it when it arrived. It wasn’t the cheapest at £250 but I think it’s a fair and reasonable price for it regardless! I might do a post on buying vintage rugs soon, so if you are interested, let me know!
Bobbi Brown Oil Infused Lip Glosses
This month Bobbi Brown released Oil Infused Lip Glosses and quite frankly, I’m here for them, they are basically lip oils with a pop of colour. Best used with a lip liner, but they give a lot of hydration with a hit of colour. Personally I LOVE the shade In The Flow. I also really like them worn over lipstick for a really glossy, non-sticky finish. And also from Bobbi Brown…
Bobbi Brown X Morag Myserscough Collection
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Bobbi Brown make-up, but this month has seen the release of something very new and very special… the Bobbi Brown X Morag Myserscough Collection! This capsule collection contains a eyeshadow palette, highlighter and two crushed lip colours. All artfully decorated with Morag’s trademark joyful, playful designs! Personally, the highlighting powder is my favourite thing, but what can I say, I love the golden rose glow tone and the packaging is an absolute treat to see every time I open my handbag! Flawless!! Thank you for bringing this into the world Bobbi Brown!!!
Caudalie ‘Beauty Elixir’
I have been using Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir for years now, however, I ran out of my last bottle in the summer and I’m SO pleased to have another bottle! THIS STUFF IT AMAZING!!!! It’s a stunning blend of grape water, rose, orange blossom, rosemary and mint. It’s not only refreshing and fabulous, but it’s also hydrating, toning and revitalising! I love it so much and I’m so happy to be using it again!
New Prints In Our Airbnb
I FINALLY hung some prints in our Airbnb and I’m SO thrilled at how they look!!!!! Both are from Desenio, I did a post about them, if you want to know more. I am so so happy with them, it finally feels like our airbnb is complete which makes me SO happy!!! These prints feel like the cherry on top! I made a vid which shows the prints in all their glory, you can watch it on my YouTube channel.
This month saw us pack our suitcases for a week away in Norfolk! I love North Norfolk, it’s the perfect place for a staycation, we went on lots of dog walks, stayed in a beautiful little holiday cottage (we stayed in it last year too!) and we went to the farm shop lots for fresh deliciousness to eat every meal! There’s lots of local dog walks and we saw hares in the fields and went to visit some local National Trust properties too! If you are looking for a dog friendly property in the cutest little village, I can’t recommend The Old Forge enough! Whilst you are in the area, make sure you go to Wells Next The Sea and do the forest walk at Felbigg Hall.
This feature makes me SO happy! I can’t believe this time four and a half years ago we were looking on Rightmove, trying to find out first home and now we are featured on Rightmove sharing our story and hopefully serving a little inspiration up to the first time buyers and renovators out there! It honestly makes us both SO proud and it’s such an exciting feature for us both.
I got a small bottle of Shiseido Serum in a Latest In Beauty box and have to say… I LOVED it!!!!! This was one of my first Shisedo experiences and I know it’s a brand that people love, but damn, I fell hard for this one and now I’m desperate to buy the full sized bottle.
Just before Christmas I got some adorable linen napkins from Matalan and this month we have been using them religiously at meal times, rather than just on special occasions! It’s way more sustainable and they just feel so much nicer than throwaway serviettes or kitchen paper. I need to buy some more now, so I never run out! Oh and my vintage napkin rings were bought on Ebay a while ago and I love them too!
Chopard ‘Love’ Perfume
I’m utterly obsessed with this new Chopard perfume, ‘LOVE’. It’s right up my street, a blend of six types of roses, mixed with Jasmin, orange blossom, patchouli, sandalwood, honey and vanilla. It’s rich, warm, luminous, floral and flamboyant. It’s heady with roses and has a complexity too, it’s truly magical! Read more here.
Roja Peony Candle
I have two Roja candles burning at the moment – I know, I’m a boujee b*tch! I have New York in the hallway, and Peony of Luoyang in the office. Whilst New York is intense, rich, complex and leathery, the Peony is soothing, pretty, fresh, floral and uplifting. As much as I adore the New York candle in the evenings with a cosy fire, the floral peony is giving me all the joyful Spring vibes which I’m REALLY feeling right now!
Pixi Milky Range
This month saw Pixi release their new Milky range and I’m SO excited to crack it open, my skin is super dry at the moment and I’m SO ready for this range!!
This month I did a little necklace organisation and it feels SO good!!!! I hung these Command Hooks on the inside of my vintage sideboard and now my necklaces are neat and organised and neatly tucked away! Plus because Command Hooks are non-evasive sticky pads, I don’t have to worry I’m ruining my vintage sideboard! Win Win!
And there we have it my friends… a petty hefty month for me I think! I seemed to have crammed a LOT in, which feels GREAT!!! I hope you had a good month and let me know what your faves have been! Also this post contains some gifts and some affiliate links.
