Six Weeks Of Using The Silk’n ToothWave

My friends!! Today I want to chat all about something I’m actually not that comfortable talking about… Teeth!!! Is it just me, or am I the only one who hides their mouth and more specifically, their teeth, as soon as someone says the word?! There’s such a stigma around teeth but at the same time, here in the UK we are very nervous about doing anything to them. I think we have all been stung with abrasive teeth whitening toothpastes and have fears of wearing braces for years and I GET IT!! I’m personally terrified of whitening toothpastes because I can remember that constant throb of sensitivity and it’s really painful and unpleasant, plus, deep down, we know it’s probably doing long term damage for short term vanity. Am I right?! Anyway, today I want to chat about my experiences with using electric toothbrushes and more specifically, the Silk’n ToothWave toothbrush. Y’all ready for this?!

What Makes The Silk’n ToothWave Brush Different To Regular Electric Toothbrushes?

Silk’n ToothWave is an electric toothbrush that removes plaque, stains, discolouration and even tartar. It is in fact the first electric toothbrush that removes tartar! The secret behind ToothWave is the new, clinically proven and patented DentalRF™ technology. It aims to deliver results similar to a dental hygienist over a longer period of time. The technology sends out radiofrequency waves, that consist of charged molecules, to the surface of each tooth, even reaching under the gumline. The molecules gently but effectively destabilise the strong bonds that connect impurities (which includes staining, discolouration and tartar) molecules to the tooth’s surface until they are detached and washed away. It also helps reduce  gum inflammation, partly because it reaches below the gumline to keep your teeth clean, partly because it’s far gentler on the teeth and gums than manual and regular electric toothbrushes. How do you like that?!

How Does It Work?

I was never very good at explaining the science part, so I hope you don’t mind, but I think this toothbrush will be explained WAY better if you watch the vid above, it’s literally a two minute video and which is less less time than it will take trying to decipher my explanation of how it works! My Experience With Silk’n ToothWave

Before I tell you about the Silk’n ToothWave, I want to tell you that the first time I EVER used a regular electric toothbrush from another brand I HATED IT! It’s such a weird alien feel to something moving around your mouth, it reminded me of a more intense version of bubbles in a fizzy drink. Just something bouncing around your mouth and it felt SO wrong. It took about a week to get used to it and now it’s not a problem for me. However, when I first started using the Silk’n ToothWave, I had a similar feeling, because it’s a totally different experience to a regular electric toothbrush, it vibrates more and honestly, it was like someone was tickling the inside of my mouth and I did not like it. However, within a couple of days, I was fine with it, but even if you are an electric toothbrush user, you will find the sensation different and potentially a bit weird, but I promise, once you get used to it and you will, it’s absolutely fine! I swear!! So my teeth, whilst I didn’t have any major staining on my teeth, I was just starting to notice a bit more yellowing and discolouration which was making me feel a little self-conscious. I drink about 3 coffees a day – which I know is TERRIBLE, but it’s my one true vice in life and I think we all know how terrible coffee is for our teeth. However, after 6 weeks of using the Silk’n ToothWave toothbrush, I have definitely noticed my teeth are about three shades whiter, which honestly, I’m thrilled with! I think the difference would be a lot more dramatic if I had more staining before, but I really just had some yellowing and discolouration, but I’m super pleased with the results. I still have my old electric toothbrush, but I won’t be going back to it, the Silk’n ToothWave is so much more effective and also, I love how much gentler it is on my teeth too, as I’m always really nervous that my regular electric toothbrush is too abrasive and could be doing long term damage, whereas the Silk’n ToothWave is way gentler and way more effective on staining.

I’m super impressed! If you are in the market for a new toothbrush, I would 100% say, spend a little more and get the Silk’n ToothWave rather than a classic electric toothbrush, you will feel the difference in terms of how gently it cleans your teeth, even compared to a manual toothbrush, and you will see the difference in terms of removing staining too. I still hide my teeth when someone talks about their own teeth, but now it’s out of habit, rather than shame. Anyway, if you have any questions, please do let me know, I would be happy to try and answer them, I know teeth can be an uncomfortable topic, so I hope this helps someone!

This post has been sponsored by Silk’n, it is a paid collaboration. I have been using the product for around 6 weeks now and I’m beyond happy with the product and the results, as always, all opinions are my own.

I really need to get on this electric toothbrush vice, I’m so late to the game! This one sounds so good and it’s great that it removes tartar too x
