Modern Twists On Traditional Father’s Day Gifts…
Hello friends, today I want to chat all about fathers day gifts, because let’s be honest, dads are VERY hard to shop for! Over the past few years I’ve come to think about the fact that the traditional ‘dad gifts’ are kinda the best gifts. I mean, why invent the wheel, y’know? I’ve done a little research and spoken to my boyfriend, dad and brother and the general consensus seems to be that they WANT a shirt, maybe a set of pyjamas or pair of socks, they like a new face wash and he will appreciate that brand new razor! So my friends, this year we are keeping it simple with great quality, usable items with a little twist. Y’all ready for this?!
Bulldog Skincare Set
Bulldog Skincare is natural and affordable. I gave this set to my brother years ago for his birthday and he loved it so much he continued buying it for himself. The generous sized tubes last for ages and if he’s a no-nonesense kinda man, then he will love this freshly-scented, super natural and effective skin care. It honestly can’t be beaten and at their affordable prices, he will be able to repurchase everything without giving it a second thought!
If your dad is a dog walker, or just loves the outdoors, then why not treat him to a new pair of wellington boots? For my family, it HAS to be Muck boots, specifically the Muck Master boot, which is warm but not too hot, lightweight enough to be able to walk all day without being flimsy, non-sweaty, non-rubbing and generally just the best wellies in the world! My dad has two pairs, my boyfriend has one pair and my mum also loves hers. Seriously, it’s Muck Boots or nothing in our house… your Dad will love them!
According to my boyfriend, ‘Gilette razors are the best’ and according to my mum ‘Your dad aways needs a new razor / razor blades’. It might not be a groundbreaking gift, but if he doesn’t rock a beard, it’s a great gift and only Gilette will do! Feeling flush? Then throw in a shaving oil!
Dad’s like to feel cool and nothing makes you feel cooler than a good ol’ pair of hipster sunglasses. Plus, fathers day is the best time to give sunglasses because it’s the start of summer! Sunglasses Hut obvs have the best selection of summer sunglasses, especially for the hipster dads. Look out for classic Ray Ban Clubmasters, Oliver Peoples and Persol.
Forever one of my boyfriends favourite grooming brands. Elemis is for the man who finds skincare important, maybe it’s because they have sensitive skin or maybe because they find the ritual relaxing. Either way, they deliver great skincare which smells, feels and works super well. My boyfriend is a HUGE fan of their muscle relaxing bath soak too. It’s perfect for a man who does a lot of sports and is on his feet a lot at work. It honestly works wonders, it contains super healing essential oils which help soothe aching legs and muscles.
Corksicle Origins Tumbler
Does your dad have a hefty work commute or spend hours walking the dog? Then let me point you in the direction of this Corksicle Tumbler which is perfect for keeping hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold. It’s nice and large so it’s big enough for super sized coffees and teas and the wood design will make him the envy of all the other dads!
Le Couvent Des Mines ‘Aqua Mysteri’
Le Couvent Des Mines Aqua Mysteri is fresh, fun and affordable which makes it a brilliant fathers day gift. At £34 a bottle it’s an absolute steal and if you dad likes something a little more zesty and natural, this could be the one for him. It contains notes of Orange Blossom with Palmarosa and if he likes brands like L’occitane or Crabtree & Evelyn, this is the one for him!
I bought my dad a Barbour Top last year for his fathers day gift and he was worn it non-stop! Literally he loves it! So it’s time to get him another, it’s from Mainline Menswear and the cotton, the fit, the finish, everything is perfect. I can’t recommend it enough! If my dad loves it, I’m sure yours will too!
A Nice New Belt
Again from Mainline Menswear this Barbour Belt is a great additional to any dad wardrobe. Firstly, dads love a belt, but it’s the kind of thing which isn’t replaced very often because it’s not at the top of the shopping list in the way that a jumper, suit or shoes are. They just get a little forgotten and let’s be honest, belts do wear out! So here’s a rather lovely Barbour belt from Mainline Menswear. It’s a winner right?!
My dad is a huge fan of L’Occitane, maybe it’s all those holidays in France, or maybe it’s the scent of fresh lavender, vetiver and citrus, but either way he loves it! He particularly loves the lavender range and I usually pick out quite practical every day items for him like soap, hand wash, shower gel etc, but he also has a real fondness for their Lavender bath soak and the Eau de Cedrat fragrance, which is perfect for a special occasion like fathers day.
Whether your dad likes to listen to the Cricket, The Archers or Fleetwood Mac, the Wonderboom 2 is the PERFECT gift! I honestly think everyone needs one! You connect them to your phone via bluetooth (it’s mega easy, I swear!) and then your music plays out for all to hear in beautiful clarity with great base and 360degrees surround sound. It’s got a 13 hour battery life and it’s waterproof so you can take it to the beach, the bath, the car wash or the pool. PS. If you drop it in water… it floats!!
…And there we have it! Classic fathers day gifts with a modern twist! I hope this is of help and if you have any questions, just let me know! This post contains some press samples and affiliate links.
