The original Guerlain ‘Shalimar’ is a iconic fragrance. It was created in 1889 and is widely known as the worlds’ first Oriental fragrance, it is also rumoured to be a favourite of Marlene Dietrich. It’s classic and opulent and I know I feel sensational when I wear it, I think of it as a mood and self-esteem elevator. When I found out Guerlain had created this new twist of Shalimar, I was instantly excited. Will it replace my love for the original, of course not, but will it be a wonderful addition to my summer fragrance wardrobe? Let’s hope so! Are you ready to deep dive into the world of Guerlain Shalimar Souffle d’Oranger?
Guerlain ‘Shalimar Souffle d’Oranger’ pays homage to the orange tree in all it’s summer-time, full bloom and ripe-citrus glory. It blends orange and green fruits of Petitgrain, Bergamot and Mandarin, with a heart of jasmine and the sunshine filled orange-florals of Neroli and Orange Blossom. At the base of the fragrance there’s a warm and addictive Vanilla and Sandalwood. It’s got the warmth of sunshine and the brightness of orange and the elegance of timeless Guerlain. It’s truly a summer joy and if you love the original Shalimar, then I think you might love the slightly more orange-y edition too. It’s a little warmer, it’s a little more day time and it’s a little more fun too! It will never replace my love for the original Shalimar, but I’ve got a love for it! It’s a summer sensation!
Guerlain Shalimar Souffle d’Oranger is out now and available from Selfridges. This post contains press samples.
