Let Me Tell You More!
Hello friends, I’m back again with news of an online app / subscription service, which I think is kinda life changing! No really! I’m talking about the Netflix of the magazine world. It’s called Readly and spoiler alert: It’s AMAZING!
♥
I’ve always loved magazines, in fact, there’s been a magazine for every era of my life, from Shout when I was pre-teen to Bliss when I was a teenager and then everything from Bust, Select, VOX, Elle, Pop & iD when I was older. However, as much as I love magazines, I have a few issues (!) with buying them. Firstly, the price, if I bought all the magazines I wanted every month I would be broke! Secondly, I’m a commuter, as much as I love trashy gossip mags, I’m done with them in 10 minutes and who can justify buying 2 magazines before every train journey? Plus those bad boys are heavy on the handbag, so buying multiple magazines for one journey is bad for the wallet and bag for my shoulders. Thirdly, the waste! I rarely hang onto my magazines, only the really special ones like Vogue and Lula and even then, I still have a purge once in a while. Sure I can recycle magazines, but it still feels wasteful seeing a big pile of magazines in my recycling bin.
A Little Of This, A Little Of That…
See, here’s the thing. I like to browse and dip-in and out of magazines. Sometimes I want trashy gossip, other times I want trends and sometimes I wanna be able to drool over things I can’t afford! When it comes to magazines, I want to be able to flick through and read a little of this and a little of that. Much like when you are in the hairdresses and you grab handful of magazines to flick through them, reading quotes and new-flashes, checking out the shopping page and then maybe reading one longer article as the hair masque / hair dye works it’s magic. Much like I don’t want to read only one blog, or watch one TV show, I don’t want to commit to just one magazine…. Remember I told you about a life changing app? Well, here it is; Readly. Much like Netflix or Audible, Readly works on a subscription basis and once you sign up, you get access to over 3,000 magazines with no limitations. You can read on or offline and you can share the subscription with your family and create up to five user profiles on one account. Not only could you read more every month, but you could also save a small fortune!
What’s The Cost?
Let’s talk about the money! Readly is £7.99 a month. However, you can get your first months’ subscription for just 99p, so you can try it out and if it’s not for you, you can cancel at any time with no fees and no hassle, even at the end of the first month. Just to put it into perspective, if your favourite weekly magazine is £2.50 per copy and it comes out every week, meaning you spend £10 a month on that magazine alone. But if you subscribed to Readly, not only would you save £2.01 on your fave weekly mag every month, but you would also be able to read all the other magazines as well at no extra cost; Vogue, Porter, Marie Clare, Cosmo, Elle, Tatler, Cosmo, Heat, Closer… go wild! And because you can download issues and access them off-line it’s perfect for commuters or frequent flyers too. And like I said, if you decide Readly isn’t for you, you can cancel at any time without any fees, contracts or questions asked. Amazing right?!
Other Benefits
I touched on this before, but with Readly, you can share your subscription with your friends / family and you can create up to five user profiles. You could share with your friends, parents, husband or children and with categories from Music & Entertainment, Mens, Womens, Home & Garden, Food, Fashion, Tech and so many more categories and niches. Not to labour the point, but if you have a husband and three children, collectively you could save a fortune every month by cutting out all the print magazines and switching entirely to digital magazines on Readly, and not only that, you would also have a lot more space in your recycling bin each week too. I’ve set up profiles for myself, my boyfriend, mum, bestie and sister-in-law, it’s so much fun to share the love, plus we all have different tastes so each profile has suggestions for us based on our tastes and interests! Also, a huge benefit of Readly is that you can access loads of the international fashion magazines, which is amazing as these often cost triple what the UK versions cost because of import prices and because they are digital, you can access them as soon as they come out, rather than waiting weeks for a copy to hit a specialist magazine store. Finally, it’s not just the current issues of magazines which you can read on Readly, you can also access back issues too, so if you are like me and you want to read all about Courtney Love through the years, you can! Honestly, Readly has become an essential part of my commute as well as a great resource for inspiration and researching my next DIY projects or camera equipment. I can’t recommend it enough, just give it a go, it’s 99p for the first month and if you don’t love it, you can cancel it, but I promise you will be as hooked as I am!

This post is paid partnership between myself and Readly. As always, all opinions are my own.
I love this idea, really! All magazines in one place. But i really love the feel of magazine on paper… it something different, very different. But you are right, they are heavy… I also finish one magazine in 10-15 minutes 😀 LOL so Readly could be a great choise! Thanks for sharing! Xxx
