Jo Malone London ‘Bronze Wood & Leather’ Cologne
“Jo Malone London ‘Bronze Wood & Leather’ Cologne. Bronze Wood & Leather evokes the scent of sultry leather encased in a melody of woods. At once smokey and warm , bronzed by the sun’s evening rays. Enlivened with vibrant juniper and fresh grapefruit and finished with a mysterious twist of vetiver.”
Leather, Woods, Juniper, Grapefruit, Vetiver
Bronze Wood & Leather Cologne can be combined with Wood Sage & Sea Salt to give it an earthier, more coastal edge, it builds on the woods which are already in the fragrance, but with a slightly fresher twist. It can also be combined with Myrrh & Tonka to add to it’s rich, warm and Oriental vibe. Finally, it’s also a dream with Pomegranate Noir (one of my fave ever Jo Malone London fragrances) which is warm, intense, leathery, woodsy and builds on the freshness with its juicy berries. However, I think it’s perfect, just the way it is! Let me explain….
Jo Malone Bronze Wood & Leather is the latest fragrance to be introduced to the Intense collection. The perfumes within this collection tend to be much darker, richer, exotic and generally more intense than the classic collection and dare I say it… less commercial than fan favourites like Peony & Blush Suede or Lime Basil Mandarin. However, that being said, if you are a fan of the Cologne Intense collection, then I think you will adore it. For me, it’s up there with the iconic Dark Amber & Gingerlily (one of my all time favourite JML fragrances and my personal fave of the Cologne Intense collection) In fact, it kind of reminds me of a slightly more masculine version of Dark Amber & Gingerlily even though none of the notes are the same, it has that same opulence and magic! It also reminds me a little of my favourite Fornasetti candle which is really smoky, leathery and rich with incense.
Bronze Wood & Leather Cologne is a unisex fragrance and it’s not for the faint hearted. Filled with notes of warm, smoky woods, rich leather and a burst of smoky citrus bergamot and grapefruit, it is quite a masculine fragrance but it also really wearable for women too. It’s warm and golden, whilst also being dry and earthy with a twist of vetiver. It reminds me a little of an cosy log cabin in a enchanted woods. Warm and cosy, with whispers of earl grey tea, foraged berries and beams of glorious sunshine poking through the trees and warming the earth. It’s wonderful and the freshness of the zesty grapefruit is truly a joy! Jo Malone London Bronze Wood & Leather Cologne is perfection, for me, it’s up there with the best of the collection, in fact, I would go as far to say it makes my top five favourite Jo Malone London perfumes EVER! Yep! I said it, that’s how much I love this one, that being said, it is a little more niche, so make sure you try this one in store rather than buying it blind!
Jo Malone London Bronze Wood & Leather Cologne is out now and available as a 50ml cologne and 100ml cologne, priced at £75 and £120 respectively. It is part of the Cologne Intense collection, look out for it’s signature black bottle on the shelf! Fragrance sample was gifted. All opinions are my own. It’s also worth reading my longest lasting Jo Malone fragrances post.
