I recently found out Marlene Dietrich wore the Guerlain fragrance Shalimar, which not only makes me love the fragrance even more myself, but it reminded me how much I love Guerlain in general. It’s such a ‘love’ brand of mine, everything from the packaging to the history, I just can’t get enough of their beautiful make up and divine fragrances. It’s all perfection!
Whilst Shalimar is undoubtably my all-time favourite Guerlain fragrances, I also adore Terracotta, Meteorites and Limon Verde from the Aqua Allegoria collection. In short, Guerlain have a lot of amazing fragrances and I’m always up for discovering what’s new from them. Today, I want to chat about my most recent discovery, Musc Noble which is available exclusively at Harrods. It’s centred around Musk, but it’s not what I think of as a musk-based fragrance, because it’s SO much more! It’s really rich, deep and heady with the scent of spicy black pepper and exotic saffron, softened with velvety roses and warm amber. The musk is there, but it’s in the shadows and the lingering trail; mysterious and animalistic. Also, it’s not mentioned in the fragrance description, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a touch of oud or incense hidden amongst the named ingredients, it’s got that Middle-Eastern magic vibe! Guerlain Musc Noble is really special and the exact style of perfume I go crazy for; dark and smoky with oodles of red roses and a touch of spice. It’s a million miles away from the pretty fruity/florals like Mon Guerlain and La Petite Robe Noire, instead it’s grown up and very Harrods and reminds me a little of Terry de Gunzburg Terryfic Oud, which is also a dark delight. If you love perfumeries like Roja, Amouroud and Tom Ford’s Private Collection, then you need to try Guerlain Musc Noble, it’s truly fabulous!
