It’s The Season… To Smell Fabulous!

Is Christmas really Christmas without a new bottle of perfume!? I don’t think so! I’m even considering getting Gordon his first bottle of puppy perfume this year so he won’t feel left out (it’s a thing, I swear!). It can be so hard choosing fragrances for other people, but luckily, I know a thing or two about perfume, so I’m here to help… I’ve got some tips and suggestions for buying perfumes for him, her and also, I have some news on new perfumes in case you fancy treating yourself to a little something-something! Are you ready for some festive fragrances?

Luxury Festive Fragrances For Her

Buying fragrances for other people can be super tricky, however, I have a few pieces advice which might help make the decision process a little easier! Firstly, think of her personality and the clothes she wears, if she loves pretty pastels, oodles of florals and she’s more of a ‘summer’ person, then she might like something really feminine and pretty, like Marc Jacob’s Daisy Dream, which is filled with notes of blackberry, pear, grapefruit, lychee and jasmine on a base of woods, coconut water and musk. Alternatively, if she is a little more of a party girl with a love for luxe, then you might want to try something like Gucci Guilty, which contains notes of bergamot, orange blossom, lily, ylang ylang on a base of sandalwood, vanilla and amber, so it’s a little more more sexy and it has a slightly more opulent feel. On the flip side, if she’s sportier and you are looking for a perfume which is a little more effortless, clean and fresh, then why not consider the classic CK one.  One final thing to mention, if you know she loves the aesthetic of a fashion brand, have a look to see if that brand has created a perfume line, as it is likely the perfume will hold similar characteristics as the clothing. For example, Stella McCartney  is famous for her is simple, feminine and elegant clothing, likewise, the fragrance Stella, with it’s notes of mandarin, rose and amber, is a really simple, feminine and elegant fragrance.

Boss The Scent

… And For Him

When it comes to choosing fragrances for men, it can feel like a bit of a minefield for us girls, although I’m sure the boys feel exactly the same when picking out perfumes for us! Again, I would suggest trying to figure out if he’s a woods and leathers kinda man, or if he’s more a crisp, fresh and outdoorsy kinda chap. But if you unsure, I would always suggest playing it safe with something fresh and breezy like CK one or Boss Bottled Tonic. Speaking of Boss, I think they have really nailed their fragrance collection and you can’t really go wrong with any of their fragrances. My boyfriend (and I) love Boss The Scent with it’s warm and sensual notes of ginger, maninka fruit and leather, as well as Boss Bottled for it’s fruity, warm and elegant blend of apple, geranium, cinnamon and woods. Seriously, Boss are the Boss!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Twinkle

… And What’s New!

This year we have seen a whole host of beautiful new fragrances and I thought I might pick out a few highlights in case you want to add one to your own personal wishlist! First up, Marc Jacobs Daisy Twinkle, which is SO pretty with it’s green floral and sweet violet notes. It’s so pretty and joyful, and also a little unexpected, I promise, even on the darkest days, this will make you feel like Spring in your heart! Next up, Lacoste Pour Femme Intense is super addictive with it’s notes of caramel, lily, rose, sandalwood and musk. It’s sweet, feminine and not what I expected from Lacoste, but it’s lovely! And finally, Boss The Scent For Her Private Accord is stunning with it’s mandarin, osmanthus, dark cocoa and tonka beach, it’s zesty but also really sensual and unusual. My friends, it’s christmas, treat yourself, as well as your loved ones!
