Magic Is Real!

I’m a great believer in the fact that we can do anything we put our minds to. We just have to want it, work for it and go for it! Life IS amazing and magical things CAN and DO happen, but you have to throw yourself into things, put yourself out there and try your best to make awesome things a reality. Let me give you an example, a few nights ago I was whatsapp’ing a friend and having a catch up. I’ve known him for a scary amount of time, like 15 years, back when I was living up north and drunk in my 20’s. He was always the hot boy with a huge heart and could make you laugh until you cried. He also loved Kylie with every inch of his being. Fast forward 15 years, he’s still hot, he’s still got a huge heart, he’s still funny AF and he’s FRIENDS with Kylie. Like real friends, legit friends. The next time you think to yourself something is impossible, think about my buddy just lol’ing away with his pal Kylie. Magic is REAL!

#YouCanDoIt

A few weeks ago I wrote a blog post about how it’s never too late to start a blog. You can read it here. I get told ALL the time about how people wish they had started a blog years ago but they think they have ‘missed the boat’, but believe me, you’ve never missed the boat. Not in blogging. Not in life. Not in anything! However, every day day that you put off doing that new venture or taking that plunge is a day that you’ve missed out on. Don’t think about the time that you wasted when you didn’t do it, think about the time you saved when you decided to do it NOW rather than waiting for yet another 2 years. Whilst your idea / venture / dream might not be starting a blog, it’s still the same principle. Do it now, not later. Write the idea down. Start to plot your next step and then the step after that. Stop thinking about all the reasons you can’t and think about the reasons you can. There’s nothing wrong with grass roots, DIY and starting at the bottom. In fact, it’s almost better this way, because every tiny leap you take forward feel like a huge accomplishment and spur you on! You just need to start: Write it down. Add a few bullet points and then think about  how you can move it forward one step at a time. Keep moving it forward day-by-day, week-by-week and then let momentum do it’s job. When you get momentum, it kinda happens for you and you’re along for the ride and next thing you know, you look our the window, cruising in the sunshine and you’re getting there!

No Dream Is Too Small

Maybe your idea is a big ol’ dream which might take YEARS to turn in to reality. Maybe, you’re reading this and feeling bad about yourself because you DON’T have a big dream or big idea (yet). Instead you feel really unhappy in your living situation or job or relationship or something else. These things might feel insignificant, but actually they have a big impact on our lives. I can’t tell you how many times I *thought* I was happy in my job but I was dying inside, or when I *thought* that my cold, miserable flat with the flatmate that hated me wasn’t so bad. But when I made those changes, I felt lifted and renewed and I wished I had made those changes long ago. Instead I waited years until changed was forced upon me or I was SO unhappy that I had no other option. Once you change those small things, you make room in your life (and head) for bigger things. I’m a firm believer that you need to get the foundations of your life right before you can achieve the bigger things. My friends, be fearless, realise the things you need to change and remind yourself that you can do it. You can move flats, you can find a new group of friends, you can quit smoking, find a new job, learn that skill, change careers or do anything you want to do. No dream is too small, achieving the smaller dreams creates a path for the bigger ones and it will all fall into place. Magical things happen and YOU CAN DO IT!
