Getting A Great Nights Sleep With Leesa Mattresses

There was a time in my life where I lived in a rented flat with a mattress so OLD that the springs poked into my back and there was a big dip in the middle of the mattress which was so bad that I either had to sleep at either side of the bed or wake up with an aching back. I kid you not! It was only when I met my boyfriend (well, fiancé now) that he insisted it was time to invest in a proper bed and good quality mattress. It was admittedly more of a financial commitment than I wanted to make, but damnnnn he was right! We spend a third of our lives in bed, although I personally would argue more, as I LOVE to watch films in bed. I’ve found with a good mattress, I sleep better, my body feels supported and it generally just makes my bed a really lovely place to be and oh-so-comfortable! However, after 8 years and oodles of house and bedroom moving, I decided it was finally time to say goodbye to my mattress and say ‘Hello’ to a new Leesa mattress. Why Leesa? Well, lemme explain.

A New Breed of Foam Mattresses

If you listen to podcasts, you might have noticed that over the past few years, a few super-high tech foam mattress brands that have sprung (pun intended) up. They use a combination of foams to create the ultimate sleeping experience, bridging the gap between comfortable but heavy and spring mattresses and insanely expensive memory foam versions. All the comfort, comparatively lightweight, affordable and no need to flip! Honestly, it feels like the future and you don’t even have to go into a showroom to awkwardly lie on a bed in public (although if you DO like this experience or if you want to just see and feel the Leesa IRL, you can at West Elm in London and Kingston). In my opinion, Leesa is the creme de la creme of foam mattresses, especially here in the UK. Don’t believe me? They are a 2018 ‘Which Best Buy’ (which is always my favourite place for impartial reviews) and approved by Good Housekeeping and Men’s Health also. On top of that, they have a HUGE number of incredible customer reviews and testimonials.

What Is A Leesa Mattress?

Leesa mattresses use three layers of foam, the top layer is the one closest to your body so it allows plenty of movement of air so it feels really cool to sleep on, even in the height of summer, and it’s also nice and bouncy. The middle layer is made up of memory foam, to support your body all over and match all your contours, including those troublesome places like ankles. As for the base, this is a dense core support, which gives the mattress strength, stability and structure. You’ll never have springs stuck into your back because there are none, nor will it creek when you get up for a 3am wee and wake up your partner – seriously, the struggle is real! Oh and best of all, you don’t have to worry about flipping your mattress every few months either, because Leesa mattresses don’t need flippin’! Oh and one more thing, if you are a renter, then I’m sure you will know there is NOTHING worse than trying to move a big ol’ heavy mattress which feels like it’s made of bricks and is totally rigid. Whilst this Leesa Mattress isn’t lightweight, it’s a whole load easier to move than a 1000 pocket sprung mattress! The renters out there will understand that this is a consideration for city dwellers!

Why Leesa?

There are lots of great reasons to choose a Leesa mattress, firstly, there is a 100 night sleep guarantee. The folks at Leesa are SO sure that you will love your Leesa mattress, they gave you 100 nights to try it out and if you don’t love it, they will take it back and give you back your money. Also, Leesa love to give back to the community, for every mattress sold, they plant a tree (135,000 trees have been planted so far!) and for every 10 mattresses sold, they donate one to charity. Plus each mattress is made in the UK, so you are supporting British manufacturing when you buy one, and the very best part…. it’s delivered to your door for FREE in 5-7 business days of ordering it! There are no expensive delivery costs and no struggles getting it upstairs, because it comes compressed in a box! And the best part is, Leesa have a 100 night sleep risk free guarantee, so if you decide you don’t like your Leesa mattress, you can send it back and get your money back. No questions asked!

What’s The Cost?

OK, let’s talk money. When we bought our last mattress about 8 years ago, we bought it on a 20% off kinda-weekends and it cost us way over £1,000. The equivalent today would probably cost more like £1,500 full price. I don’t regret spending the money because honestly, I’ve had 8 years of comfortable sleeping on that mattress, however, if I can have the same super comfortable nights sleep for half that price, I’m a happy girl! Leesa mattresses are priced at £399 for the Single Bed size, £599 for the Double bed, £699 for the King and £769 for the Super King. There are also EU sizes for my european friends too, check the Leesa website for details. Also, Leesa have some great payment options, so you can pay for your mattress in monthly instalments with an interest free plan. You can find out more information on the Leesa website. Also now might be a great time to mention you can ALSO get £100 off your mattress with the code FASHIONFORLUNCH.

Beauty Sleep

Whilst people love to show off about how little sleep they got because they are so busy / stressed / important / popular. I honestly believe the world would be a better place if we all got our full 8 hours sleep every night. Sleep is important to our mental health, well-being, stress levels and immune system. A good nights sleep also makes us look our best and feel our best from the inside out. Whilst all the lotions and potions we use are great, nothing compares to plenty of sleep, a healthy diet and lots of water. If, like me, you are a problem sleeper, then I highly suggest you consider how comfortable and supportive your mattress is, because it’s very possible that this is contributing to your bad nights’ sleep.

A Restful Night…

This Leesa mattress is my first foray into foam mattresses and whilst I read the reviews and thought it sounded like the perfect option (oh heyyyy memory foam!). I have to admit, there was a small part of me that was a tiny bit nervous about throwing away my very old, yet very expensive mattress right away. It’s for this reason I ended up propping my old mattress up against the wall and leaving it there for a good two weeks until I knew I was sure I had made the right decision. After all, Leesa have a 100 night risk free guarantee and if I decided my Leesa mattress wasn’t for me, I didn’t want to be left sleeping on slats! Thankful I love my Leesa mattress and my bedroom is once again looking like a bedroom, not like a disused mattress warehouse!

I think the first thing I want to mention about my Leesa mattress is that it cost almost half the price of my previous mattress. No really! Half the price! That’s a big ol’ saving and it’s just as comfortable, if not more comfortable than my previous mattress. There’s something about this mattress which is super soft and cloud-like, but also feels really supportive. It hugs the contours of my body and even my ankles feel really supported by it (Oh how I love memory foam!) PLUS, a HUGE selling point for me is that it doesn’t creak and move when my boyfriend rolls over or gets up at 3am to wee (or 6am for a dog walk). Which is amazing as in the past, when he wakes up at 3am, I’ve found myself staying awake for hours, unable to get back to sleep which is the most frustrating thing in the world. The lack of springs means that any disturbance at the other side of the bed doesn’t impact my side of the bed and I can carry on sleeping blissfully! The cooling technology is a dream and it’s making me wish I had got my Leesa mattress in the height of summer, it just seems to regulate my whole body, so I never wake up feeling like I have a really hot back. Finally, I feel really comforted by the fact that Leesa have a 100 night risk free trial period, that’s over three months to try the mattress and if I don’t like it I can send it back, PLUS because Leesa don’t charge for shipping or returns, I won’t be out of pocket. Additionally, each mattress comes with a 10 year warranty, so if anything goes wrong further down the line, I feel confident that Leesa will sort me out! Honestly, I wish Leesa had existed 8 years ago when I spent over £1000 buying a mattress, and I REALLY wish they had existed back when I was a student sleeping on old lumpy mattresses which gave me a sore back if I slept in the middle. Leesa is a revelation and if you aren’t getting the perfect nights sleep, or waking up with aches and pains, then maybe you should consider buying yourself a new mattress. I love my Leesa mattress and since we spend a third of our lives in bed (or more, if you are like me!) we all deserve a great mattress and a perfects night sleep.
