Hello friends, I’m back again with a fragrance post and this time, it’s one for the boys! Well, the girls too, because let’s be honest, we often become immune to our own fragrances faster than we do to our partners, so I don’t know about you guys, but I often smell his fragrance more than I smell my own. My boyfriend has impeccable taste in fragrance and I always value his opinions and I love keeping an eye on the scents he picks out for himself. Over the years he’s encouraged me to be much more experimental with fragrance and not only that, he’s the one who taught me that you should never wait for someone to buy you perfume for your birthday or christmas, instead you should buy it for yourself because life is too short to wear basic perfumes or body sprays whilst you wait around for someone else to treat. Seriously, if you’ve run out of your favourite fragrance, I urge you to open up a new tab and buy yourself a new bottle now! A bottle of perfume lasts for months and quite frankly, a great perfume brings you SO much joy every single day, so don’t waste your life wearing perfumes you don’t love! Anyyyywayyyy….
Today I want to share a few thoughts with you all on the new Acqua di Parma fragrance, Colonia Sandalo. This fragrance has been created exclusively for Harrods and it’s wonderfully rich and opulent as you might expect from Harrods, but it’s also subtle, elegant and refined, which is the signature scent of Acqua di Parma fragrances. Colonia Sandalo opens with a fresh, zesty, sunshine filled explosion of bergamot, lemon, orange, petit-grain. Warm, coastal, clean and invigorating and packs a real punch in terms of intensity. It quickly quietens down and uncovers the heart of the fragrance which is made up of spicy cardamon and comforting lavender, on a base of rich sandalwood, tonka bean and amber. Colonia Sandalo is very much themed around sandalwood, so whilst it sits at the bottom of the fragrance, it is actually a strong, dominant note throughout the lifespan of the fragrance. Whilst the top of the fragrance is quite loud and intense with it’s fresh coastal accords, it really mellows into a soothing log cabin and smoky fires kinda perfume. It get’s a big thumbs up from my boyfriend and was quickly whisked away from me to be tucked into his fragrance drawer, he’s been wearing it ever since!
