The Louis Vuitton Noe was first created to hold champagne bottles for picnics. No really! The classic LV Noe is designed to fit in four bottles of champagne on the base and one upside-down in the middle. Give it a go next time you’re hosting a summer picnic!

The Leather Trim Will Darken Over Time

This is a really important one! When I decided I wanted the Louis Vuitton Noe, I promptly headed to the LV store in Selfridges to invest age my purchase. It was the first time I’ve ever been a bit disappointed to see a bag in a shop display and feel disappointed. It looked too new and shiny and not only that, the leather trim was really pale. Like too pale. I was so used to seeing the Louis Vuitton Noe with rich, dark brown leather looking delightfully lived-in, that I forgot that when the bag was brand new it would have paler coloured leather with little / no patina. Whether you like the paler leather or darker leather, it’s important to remember that over time the colour of the leather will change and darken up. You can speed the process up by polishing the trim with leather cream and wearing plenty of hand cream, but this process will happen and it will take time. FYI, every leather handbag loves a little polish once in a while, it’s easy to forget, but SO important to keep your bag looking fabulous and lengthening the life-span of your bags!

Save Some Pennies

The Louis Vuitton Noe bag is a GREAT bag to buy on the pre-loved market. You can save yourself quite a few hundred pounds by buying it at Vestiere Collective and not only that, the bag will come with that beautiful patina and slightly lived-in look which really suits the bag. However, please be aware the LV bags are rumoured to be the worlds most counterfeited handbag, so if you are buying on the second hand market, be careful where you shop. Personally I would recommend Vestiere Collective as everything they sell has been authenticated, or if you are buying at Auction, I’m a big fan of Chiswick Auctions, who regularly hold designer handbags and fashion sales.

Style Secrets

When it comes to Louis Vuitton, most people opt for the Neverfull, Speedy or luggage. The Noe is often overlooked in favour of these more popular options, which for me, makes the handbag even cooler as it’s so much less obvious. It’s a favourite of style icons like Angelina Jolie and Dakota Johnson, who often show how the LV Noe can be styled in a very cool and off-duty way. It’s the perfect bag for piling your junk and shopping in, whilst looking effortlessly fabulous in your weekend casuals! Also a fun celebrity fact is that the first ever Louis Vuitton Speedy bag was created especially for Audrey Hepburn. She loved their bags but needed something a little smaller for her tiny frame and so they made a custom order for her and the rest is history!

Size and Colour Options

When it comes to the Louis Vuitton Noe there are plenty of options to choose from. There is obviously the classic Noe which I have and is just as stylish as it was when it was created 75 years ago. But if that’s not the Noe for you, then you should consider looking at the smaller Petit Noe, the Nano Noe (which is so tiny and cute!) as well as NeoNoe which is really practical with it’s minimalist finish and two ways to wear. There’s also plenty of options in terms of leathers and monogrammed canvasses to choose from. A girl needs plenty of choices when it comes to handbags! Personally, I’m a classic Noe girl, but the Nano Noe is also a very tempting choice. Which is your favourite Noe?
