A Rose By Any Other Name
I feel like I’m on a one-woman mission to make people love the scent of roses as much as I do! I just can’t get enough of those lush, velvety roses which are both opulent and fresh, in equal measures. It’s an obsession that’s been with me for years now and I’m not exaggerating when I say that I want to cover myself in the scent of roses 24/7! I love everything from rose-infused skincare (rose essential oil is great for skin, as well as smelling dreamy), rose bath oils, perfumes, candles, even a face powder! You name it… I want it! I’ve edited together some of my favourite rose scented products which are a treat for the nostrils as well as the soul. Let’s go!
Elizabeth & James ‘Nirvana Rose’
OK! Let’s start this thing right! First of all, a huge shout out to the Olson twins for creating Elizabeth & James Nirvana Rose because it’s stunning. If you love roses but you want a slightly cooler twist on the classic floral, then this is the one. It’s a really unusual mix of rose de mai, vetiver, geranium; it has a real old Hollywood femme fatale meets modern gentlewoman vibe to it. Oh and the vintage cigarette case inspired bottle is really fabulous. I have such a fashion crush on the Olson twins, those girls have so much style and so does this fragrance!
Acqua di Parma ‘Rose Buds’ Candle
When it comes to enjoying rose as a home fragrance, there are lots of beautiful candles out there, Jo Malone London, Diptyque and so many more, but I think it has to be this Acqua di Parma Rose Buds Candle which really sets my heart racing! Not only is it bigger than your average luxury candle, but it’s adorned with oodles of real dried rose buds. It smells like an absolute dream and honestly, it’s the most beautiful rose scented candle you can imagine. FYI, the Acqua Di Parma Rosa Nobile perfume is also stunning! I was wearing it one day and my bestie loved it so much that I ended up giving her my bottle. Sometimes roses are so special, they need to be shared.
Christophe Robin
Christophe Robin did one of the best dye-jobs I’ve ever had. In fact, I didn’t dye my hair for almost a year after because I knew it would never look as good as it did when he did it! Since then I’ve been a HUGE fan of this hair care range which is incredible. You can buy his haircare products from Space NK and his salon is in Paris. Personally I would recommend the rose products which give volume and smell DREAMY!
Jo Malone London ‘Red Roses’ Cologne
I’m a long, long, long time fan of Jo Malone London and I have oodles of their products in my collection, but after years of internal debate, I decided my all time favourite of Jo Malone London Red Roses Cologne. It encapsulates everything I love about the brand; simplicity, quality and elegance. It lasts all day long and then some and it makes me feel really good about myself when I wear it.
Molton Brown ‘Rosa Absolute’ Bath & Shower Gel
It’s usually my boyfriend who does our orders of Molton Brown, which means he fills the bathroom with scents like Tobacco, Russian Leather, Black Peppercorn… the masculine scents, y’know? All are stunning and I love using them, but I have to admit, my personal favourite has to be Molton Brown Rosa Absolute Bath & Shower Gel, it’s rich with roses and peps me up in the morning! It’s also beautiful for the evening as it’s really soothing and balancing. Stunning.
Jurlique Skincare
I’m a long time fan of Jurlique rose based skincare, their rosewater face mist is sublime, the cleanser is gorgeous and the moisturiser is a dream too. It’s really simple, gentle and natural, but filled with lush roses which are both balancing and toning for skin and good for the soul. Jurlique are one of the few brands who own their own rose farm too, they have acres and acres of rose fields in Australia and one day… I plan to visit! If you haven’t tried their skincare before, start with their rosewater face mist and the hand cream, both are stunning and they will make you realise what a must-have their entire collection is!
Elemis Rose Cleansing Balm
It’s well known amongst beauty experts that Elemis produce one of the best cleansing balms on the market. I’m no expert, but I know it’s a damned good cleansing balm which I love to use. It removes all make up, dirt and grease without stripping skin and it’s a really luxurious product which I never tire of. However, as good as the original is and as amazing as it smells with all it’s essential oils and botanical goodness, I have to admit… the Elemis Rose Cleansing Balm is even more sublime.
Miller Harris ‘Rose Silence’ Collection
I have both the Miller Harris Rose Silence Perfume and the bath oil. In fact, I love the bath oil so much I gave my mum a bottle, because she loves an evening bath and I like her to live luxuriously! As you might expect from the name, Miller Harris Rose Silence is a beautifully fresh rose fragrance is a little quieter and lighter than other darker, heavier rose fragrances. The scent of opulent red roses is lifted with tangy blackcurrant and juicy mandarin, nestled on a bed of comforting, warm sandalwood and sensual musks. Truly stunning and especially lovely if you like your rose fragrances fresh and uplifting.
Botanicals Wild Rose Mineral Soak
This one is a surprise discovery I made a few months ago, but one I’m so glad I did! I love bath salts at the best of times because of their healing and detoxing properties, but most of the ones I use are odourless, so I tend to add some extra bath soak or bath oil to the tub to add some scent. Botanicals Wild Rose Mineral Soak smells stunning just as it is, like natural roses in the wild with a little added foliage, geranium, ylang ylang and lavender. It’s made in small batches and using organic ingredients wherever possible, it makes me very happy!
Carolina Herrera ‘Rose Cruise’
Inspired by a sailing and catching a scent of florals in the breeze. Need I say any more?! Carolina Herrera Rose Cruise is filled with notes of rose (obviously!), blackcurrant, peony, white musk and dry, woodsy Norlimbanol. It’s perfect for the day time and just a generally really pretty, pleasing, fun filled and elegant rose fragrance. Carolina Herrera nailed it!
Jo Loves ‘White Roses & Lemon Leaves’
Usually, I’m all about the red roses and it’s rare I’m excited by white roses, they tend to be a little too traditional and slightly sharp for me. However, Jo Malone MBE (creator of Jo Malone London and now the creator of Jo Loves) has converted me to white roses for this one, it’s absolutely flawless! It’s rich with roses and opulence, but it’s zesty and fresh with the scent of foliage and hints of lemon. Fun fact, it’s my favourite fragrance by Jo Loves, I absolutely adore it! PS. If you haven’t tried anything from the Jo Loves brand yet, please do, it’s sublime!
Diptuqye Everything Spray
I feel bad adding this one into the edit as it isn’t actually part of the Diptyque collection anymore, however, there is a very similar product which is just as stunning and does the same thing. I’m talking about the Diptyque Eau Plurielle everything spray. You can use this as a room spray, linen mist, body mist, perfume, whatever you fancy! It costs £60 for a 200ml bottle and I’ve had mine for ages and it’s still going strong! Sometimes I use it as a body mist, or to freshen up old musty cardigans, other times I use it on my fresh laundry as a room spray. It’s a great product! Mine smells like roses and so does Eau Plurielle, in fact it smells like roses and ivy, much like a fairy tale!

And there we have it… a rose inspired beauty edit. I hope you enjoy it and I hope you love roses as much as I do. PS. If you have any rose-based products you love, lemme know in the comments below!
You are totally preaching to the converted here – I’m a massive fan of rose scents too and a decent amount of my beauty stash is rose scented! I adore the Jurlique rose products (the face must is so dreamy), and now I have a tonne to add to my wish list. I absolutely need the Elemis cleansing balm in my life and that Acqua Di Parma candle…there are no words! Loved this post ❤️?
