Oh Lordy. It’s been a month, right?!! But I’ve done my thing and collected together my August faves… wanna know more?!
ghd x Lulu Guinness
This month saw the release of a very special limited edition collection from ghd. It’s in collaboration with Lulu Guinness and it’s in aid of Breast Cancer Now. For every product sold £10 will be donated to charity and for all the Lulu Guinness and ghd fans out there, this is a damned good excuse to buy yourself a new hair tool! Go forth and shop!
This month I have been HOOKED on a podcast called Teachers Pet. Seriously, go subscribe to it! It’s SO good!!!! It’s gone totally crazy over there, dominating the news with a public outcry to reinvestigate the case of a husband who pretty clearly killed his wife. Seriously… go listen. It involves teachers grooming their pupils, a set of twins with an unhealthily close relationship and a very likely murder. I don’t want to ruin it for you, but seriously…. subscribe!! I also really liked Trace, which is also an Australian-made podcast, I think it was suggested to me by the podcast app after I finished Teachers Pet. In case you were wondering!
I’ve been doing my absolute best to try and sort out my office. For a while now, part of my office has been looking cue AF, whilst the other half has looked like a jumble sale of kitsch and beauty products. I’m trying to get it sorted out and looking good. I can’t even tell you what a mammoth job it’s been! AND I’m not even there yet… but I’m excited!! I’m hoping next month I will be done. Fingers crossed, friends!
REN Atlantic Kelp And Magnesium Anti-Fatigue Body Wash
There are so many reasons to love this REN Shower gel, firstly, it smells amazing, like the best earthy delightful spa you’ve ever stepped into. Secondly, it’s made of recycled ocean plastic and even the pump is made completely of plastic. Brilliant!!!!!
The Kindness of Strangers
It’s been a rough ol’ month here and I’m not sure this is quite the time to chat about it, but the kindness of strangers will never cease to shock and amaze me in the best possible way! You are all bloomin’ lovely!!
Benefit Brow Contour Pro
As a life-long stationery fan, I did a mini-squeal of excitement when this Benefit Brow Contour Pro popped through the door! It’s based on the retractable biros I used to love so much! It’s for brows – obvs. And you use it by building up the colours for a more natural brow shape and then contouring and highlighting around the brow for added definition. Such a fun tool to use and when it comes to Brows… Benefit know their stuff!
Glamglow X Becca Set
I love this Glamglow X Becca set! It’s such incredible value and such a great introduction to both iconic brands who are both obsession with glowing – Glamglow from the inside, Becca from the outside. This set contains Glamglow Gravitymud firming treatment and Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector pressed powder. Use together for the ultimate lifting, firming, contouring GLOW and when you are done, you’ll be an addict of both brands! This set is £25 (a steal!) and available exclusively at Space.nk. #ThankMeLater
I’m a Teapigs fan for LIFE!! Seriously, if it’s not Teapigs, I don’t wanna know! My favourite tea is their Peppermint, closely followed by their Matcha. For all those who have never tried Matcha, it’s basically ground up green tea so it’s 10 times more potent than green tea and you can eat it on your toast or cereal (or however you want to eat it) or you can make it into a matcha latte, which is also awesome. Seriously, it’s THE BEST! Anyway, this month Teapigs Matcha tea has helped me through and given me SO much energy! If you want to make a sneaky Teapigs order, make sure you use the code FASHIONFORLUNCH20 for 20% off and free standard uk shipping!
Jo Loves Lemongrass Candle
Fresh, punchy and perfect for the kitchen! I have so much love for this Jo Loves Lemongrass Candle! If you have never tried anything from Jo Loves, I urge you to visit the Elizabeth Street store (in London) to find out a little more about them and have a sniff around! Jo Loves is the latest project from Jo Malone MBE, she’s a fragrance maverick and I love her beautiful, simple and elegant fragrances.
Cox & Cox Umbrella Stand
No really, I never though that I would fall so hard for an umbrella stand, but I have been looking for the perfect umbrella stand for weeks now and I was determined to get one before Autumn starts. This Cox & Cox Umbrella Stand is the perfect solution, earthy but stylish, neutral but nice… and best of all. It feels really solid and well made! It can endure my puppies wagging tail as well as the dampest of umbrella. FYI, I found Cox & Cox because they have the bee-shaped door knocker of my dreams!!!!
Self Care And Caring For Others
This month I have been trying hard to find time for a little self care; Restful evenings, good meals, walks with the dog in our favourite places, plenty of salads and oodles of baths. It sounds basic, but sometimes it’s not as easy as it sounds, is it? I’ve also taken on the responsibility of trying to give my boyfriend a little self care time too. I’ve been running him baths filled with his favourite Elemis Aching Muscle Super Soak (seriously it’s amazing), lighting a Roja candle and putting on a good podcast for him to listen to whilst in the tub. Self care is so important and sometimes we need to remind others to do the same.
Guerlain Abeille Royale Renew & Repair Serum
I’m currently using and loving the new Guerlain Abeille Royale Renew & Repair Serum. It’s pumped full of all the good stuff; Royal Jelly, Honey Bee Black Ouessant, AHAs and all sorts. I’m not gonna pretend I understand the double action science behind it, but I know it works and it’s making my skin look and feel super healthy and radiant and restored. My skin feels like it’s taken a bit of a battering recently and I’ve been feeling really self conscious going make-up free, but this is definitely making me look and feel a lot healthier.
Jean Paul Gaultier Breton Watch
This month I was kindly gifted this beautiful Jean Paul Gaultier Breton Watch. Forget double denim, it’s all about double breton! Isn’t it lovely? I don’t know what it is, but right now, I’m ALL about the breton and this watch is ticking ALL my boxes!
Molton Brown Blog
This month I found myself on the Molton Brown Blog and it’s one of the nicest pieces that’s ever been written about me! I love the photos and as a life-long fan of Molton Brown, it was such a pleasure to work with them on this! Please do go check it out here and you can also see a sneak peek of my kitchen on there too!
Clinique Anti-Blemish Skincare Collection
I have SO many good things to say about this Clinique Anti-Blemish Skincare and I’m not even the one using it! I hope my sister doesn’t hate me for mentioning her in this context, but a few months ago she was really struggling with her skin. She has having loads of breakouts (which is unusual for her, she’s always had sensitive but overall good skin) and she was starting to feel really self concious about it and fell into that vicious cycle of wearing lots of make up to cover spots and making them worse and feeling stressed which make it worse… you know how it goes. In desperation she walked around a department store trying to find a new skincare routine which would help her. She founds the NICEST man at Clinique who was kind and gentle with her and non-sale-y and they bonded over their breakouts and he told her about his own personal secret skincare weapon. The Clinique Anti-Blemish collection. She bought the lot and started to see real results quickly. She stuck with the skincare routine and as a result she’s been able to stop wearing foundation on a day-to-day basis. I’m so pleased for her as changes in your skin can really affect your self confidence and I really wanted to share her story about how much this collection has helped her. Also a huge shout out to the Clinique man who was so gentle and compassionate with her, in an age of internet shopping, good customer service in stores has never been so important!
Coach Saddle Bag
The best thing about having a hefty handbag collection is being able to rediscover older styles and reinvent them into your current wardrobe. Lately I’ve been loving this Coach Saddle bag from the Disney X Coach collection a few years ago. Speaking of Coach, I’m also kinda obsessed with how amazing their sale is. Go have a gander here and let me know if you treat yourself to anything!
Vintage & Pop Culture Inspired Mugs
I got these amazing mugs from truffleshuffle.com for the airbnb apartment and I’m kinda obsessed with them! Aren’t they cool!?! I thin the Rainbow Brite one is my fave, but I also love the Friends one. I like to think there’s something for every big kid in this selection!
Rodin Olio Lusso 3 Perfume
I see a LOT of people getting VERY excited about Rodin, in particular their make up collection, but personally, I’m also a HUGE fan of their fragrances. I adore the pillar candle, which is a slice of jasmine joy, I also adore the Rodin Olio Lusso 3 perfume which is a delightful blend of Geranium, Jasmine Grandiflora, Ylang-Ylang, Iris, Santal and Patchouli. It’s classic and beautiful, but also fresh and modern. It oozes elegance! Obsessed!
…And there we have it my friends! My August favourites. Roll on September, this month has been a toughie.
Need that kettle!! And those mugs! Look after yourself lovely, I know it’s been hard lately xx
That coach bag is to die for! X
