Ashleigh & Burwood 'Toucan Play That Game' candle

Summer Candle Edit

I never normally burn this many candles in summer, but this year has been different… possibly because I love the ritual of lighting candles and filling the atmosphere with scent, and possibly because Gordon the puppy has a tendency to make the room smell adorably doggy. *insert cheeky monkey emoji here*. Anyway, thanks to Gordon, I’ve been inspired to create  summer candle edit… y’all ready?!

Flamingo Candles 'Rainbow Is My Favourite Colour'

Flamingo Candles ‘Rainbow Is My Favourite Colour’

OK! Let’s start with a bang! Can we talk about how darn cool this Flamingo Candles ‘Rainbow Candle’ candle is?! It’s made up of layers of pastel coloured wax and it smells like rainbow sherbet candy! It’s SO much fun and it smells sweet and delicious! Seriously, am I the only person who is kind of obsessed with this candle? Oh and it’s £12!!! Literally Flamingo Candles give me life, they are handmade soy wax candles and they are SO much fun and so affordable!

Roja 'Cèdre de Atlas'

Roja ‘Cèdre de Atlas’

The creme de la creme of candles, has to be Roja! They are uber luxe and opulent, because there’s no such thing as light and breezy fragrances as far as Roja is concerned! Again, I’ve burnt way through many Roja candles in my time (and I’ve got an incredible collection of the fragrances too, I’m a HUGE fan!) and this Roja Cèdre de Atlas is absolutely stunning. Filled with notes of varying types of cedarwood from around the globe, this candle is woodsy and surprisingly sweet. I would 100% wear this as a personal fragrance if it existed, it’s perfection!

Miller Harris 'Reine de Nuit'

Miller Harris ‘Reine de Nuit’

I LOVE Miller Harris products in general, but I have to say the Miller Harris Reine de Nuit might be my favourite of the candles. It’s SO good! It’s super rich and decadent and sexy and comforting and opulent, it’s just inccccredible! Filled with notes of tuberose, mimosa, violet and clover. If candles were drugs, this would be a habit I would struggle to kick!

Linari 'Menta' candle

Linari ‘Menta’

This is my first foray into the world of wooden wick candles (yes, there is such a thing!) and I have to admit, I’m kinda into it! I like the way the wick is long and thin, I think it look really good when it’s burning and I’m sure it adds a woodiness to the scent of the candle. This one is by Linari and the scent Menta is a beautiful blend of rich woods, soft mint with floral accents on a rosewood base. It looks pretty fabulous, it’s not your average candle! Also fun fact, it’s quite noisy as it burns, it’s quite crackly, which is weird, but really nice, kind of like a mini log burner crackling away!

MOR 'Cucumber & Casaba'

MOR ‘Cucumber & Casaba’

If you are looking for something super fresh, clean and light, then you don’t get much cleaner and naturally cleansing as the scent of cucumber. I think it will be forever hard to capture as a fragrance, but when it’s done right, it’s a DREAM! FYI, MOR have nailed it with this Cucumber & Casaba candle! It’s filled with notes of Melon, Cucumber, White Jasmine, Lily, Casaba, Rose
, Cedarwood and White Musk. It’s super clean and refreshing. I’m also kind of obsessed with the packaging, is that just me?

Crabtree & Evelyn 'Warm & Welcome'

Crabtree & Evelyn ‘Warm & Welcome’

What is it about cassis which makes my heart happy?! I’m not sure, but I go nuts for those dark, sweet, juicy berries and Crabtree & Evelyn Warm & Welcome is filled with them! Along with notes of blackberry, rhubarb and earthy green leaves. Beautiful! I always love Crabtree candles as they really fill the room with scent fast!

Diptyque 'Iris'

Diptyque ‘Iris’

The latest release from Diptyque and it’s absolutely stunning! Iris is a dreamy blend of sweet, powdery violets, mixed with bitter earthy notes. I am obsessed with the scent of violet, but it does have a bad rep for being old fashioned (although, I strongly disagree!). This candle perfectly illustrates how beautiful, modern and exciting violet can be when blended by the coolest of perfumeries.

Club 22 'Rouge' candle

Club 22 ‘Rouge’

This is not my first trip to the rodeo, if you know what I mean? Actually, you probably don’t! What I’m trying to say is I’ve had this Club 22 Rouge candle before and I loved it so much I went back in for more! It’s right up my street, filled with notes of clove, rose and oud, it’s sensual, warm, rich, addictive and even though I’ve had a fair few Club 22 candles (seriously, they are lovely! I’m a big fan!) I think Rouge is my favourite.

Sanctuary Spa 'Pink Grapefruit & Neroli Votive' candle

Sanctuary Spa ‘Pink Grapefruit & Neroli Votive’

At just £5, this is the thriftiest candle of the collection. Sanctuary Spa Pink Grapefruit & Neroli Votive is really pretty and fruity and zesty and generally really fun! I’m super impressed by it, there’s not much a fiver can buy you these days!

Elemis 'Calm'

Elemis ‘Calm’

Part of the Life Elixirs collection, this candle is designed to Calm the mind, body and atmosphere with a blend of clary sage, lavandin and rosewood. If you are a fan of Elemis and love their spa-y aromatic blend, then you will love the Life Elixirs collection, because it’s got all the healing properties, with a little extra luxury and opulence. It smells like you have returned home from a spa and you can still smell all those beautiful essential oils, but mixed with your favourite perfume, a little wine and a warm fire… Oh and if you fancy this fragrance in overdrive, there is also a bath soak in the same scent, I urge you to enjoy the two together!

Aromatherapy Associates 'Relax' Candle

Aromatherapy Associates ‘Relax’ Candle

One of my all time favourite candles for when I want to wind down and relax! This Aromatherapy Associates Relax Candle is filled with notes of West Indian bay and myrrh and it is super soothing, relaxing and perfect for anyone one wants to have a super restful and relaxing evening and a great nights sleep. I honestly can’t recommend this enough, especially if you don’t get on with pillow sprays. Fyi, the Aromatherapy Associates Deep Sleep Bath oil is also amazing if you need some help sleeping. This is basically self-care and relaxation in a candle!

Ashleigh & Burwood 'Toucan Play That Game'

Ashleigh & Burwood ‘I Zee You Baby’

Can we talk about this amazing candle pot?! Obsessed!!! It’s of course by Ashleigh & Burwood who have the most amazing selection of beautiful candles in the best candle pots and this one is inspired by velvety roses, sun-dappled peonies and delicate honeysuckle. It’s floral, opulent and fresh and it just makes me feel really happy!

Urban Apothecary 'Coconut Grove'

Urban Apothecary ‘Coconut Grove’

Last but never least, Urban Apothecary Coconut Grove is a bit of an obsession of mine! It’s a fun, careful and addictive blend of bergamot, lime, mandarin, coriander and mint… and of course, coconut! It’s delightfully playful and joyful and adds some much-needed holiday vibez into every room. The coconuts remind me of pina coladas on the beach, whilst the mint, lime and coriander keep things feeling fresh, sharp and energetic. Obsessed!

Ta daaaaa!!! And there we have it! My Summer candle edit! I hope you love it and let me know if any of these take your fancy or if you know any of these candles already! I always love hearing your thoughts! PS. Any advice on other ways to de-doggy your house are gratefully received!
