It’s June! My birthday month and also the hottest month of the year, thus far! We have been SUPER busy with our Airbnb, Gordon and general life. I need to do a home update post soon, but until then, here is my June favourites! Enjoy…
This month I have been listening to a lot of Audiobooks on Audible, which reminds me, if you aren’t a member already, you really need to sign up! There are so many amazing books on here, everything from making you work harder and smarter, to comedy series, to human interest, classic novels, true crime, thriller… I mean, it’s endless! I signed up over a year ago because I got a one month free trial, but I loved it so much I’m still signed up now and I’m ALWAYS happy for them to take £7.99 out of my account each month! However, if you want to give it a go for a month for free, then use this link! In terms of podcasts, I have been loving Love + Radio and I’ve been relistening to old episodes of Criminal, especially as I go to bed. The host phoebe has the worlds most soothing voice and despite talking about all things crime related, it really helps me drift off to sleep!
I have honestly watched SO little TV since we got Gordon the puppy. We just rarely get a chance to watch anything because we are too busy gazing at him lovingly in the evening! I wish I was kidding but I’m not. On the odd occasions that I have watched a little TV, it’s been mainly old episodes of Sex and The City. And no, I’m not watching Love Island! Sorry guys!
Sunday Somewhere X Happy Socks Sunglasses
I’ve been a huge fan of Sunday Somewhere sunglasses for a while now, but never quite had the funds to indulge in yet ANOTHER pair of sunglasses. So when these limited edition collarboation Sunday Somewhere X Happy Socks Sunglasses popped through my letterbox. These little beauties are so much fun, I mean, just look at the palm trees in the corner and those mirror lenses. I’m beyond overjoyed to have these in my life!
I hate underwear shopping so much. I hate it when the sales assistant barges in, I hate it when they tug at the straps and look at my chest. It makes me feel like a 13 year old who’s being fitted for the first time in one of those changing rooms with mirrors on all angles. It’s just not pleasant. These days I do most of my underwear shopping online and my first port of call is always Freya. They have beautiful designs, perfect for us larger bust ladies, the prices are reasonable and they just fit and support like a goddamn dream! My latest pair is this pink lacy set, how can you not feel good in these?!
Czech & Speake ‘Dark Rose’
This month, I have been loving Czech & Speake Dark Rose perfume. It’s inspired by Indo-Arabian perfumery and heritage, with lashings of Bulgarian roses, sharp saffron, woods and musk. It’s rich and beautiful and honestly, I feel SO good about myself when I wear it. There’s a shower gel in the same fragrance… I’m tempted to indulge! Who knows, it might even make it into my July favourites!
One of my boyfriends all time fragrances is Penhaligon’s ‘Sartorial’, however, for the past few months he’s not been wearing it because his last bottle ran dry. He finally got a new bottle and I’m SO happy every time he wears it. I don’t know if this is just me, but I get as much pleasure from the fragrances he wears as the ones I do! Is that crazy!?
This month Gordon had his final injections so we have been able to take him out for short walks! It’s SO much fun seeing him run around fields! He’s bouncing around, meeting other dogs and when he runs, his ears flap in the wind. He’s such a little bundle of joy!
Peppermint Grove ‘Sandalwood & Vetiver’ Candle
I have a few Peppermint Grove candles, but I have to say, ‘Sandalwood & Vetiver’ is my favourite by far. It’s quite a masculine scent and it oozes comfort, cosiness and warmth. It’s rich with woods, leathers and dry grassy accords. It’s probably more of a winter scent than a summer scent, but I love it regardless!
Blogosphere Magazine Awards
A few months ago I woke up to a LOT of twitter notifications congratulating me on my nomination in the Blogosphere Magazine awards! What a shocker! The award ceremony was this month and whilst I didn’t win, I am beyond grateful to be nominated and I’m so thrilled to attend! There were so amazing people in my category and whilst I did have to bury all the feelings of imposter syndrome inside me, it was such a huge honour to attend as a nominee! What made it even more special was the fact my friend Adorn Girl was a fellow nominee in another category, all those years ago when we met at a dinner, I never knew we would come so far together!
This month I headed to Paris for a few days with FeelUnique! It was SO much fun! We did ALL my favourite things; ate macaroons from Laduree, hot chocolate at Angelina’s, roamed around the balcony lined streets and sniffed endless perfumes at the FeelUnique store in Paris. It was perfect!
Omorovicza ‘Cashmere’ Cleanser
If I could slather myself daily in Omorovicza products, I 100% would! I love everything from their lip balms to face masks, body scrubs to cleansers. This new Cashmere Cleanser is a pretty penny, but we’ve only got one skin, so if you have the cash to splash, this is one hell of a cleanser. Perfect for those of us with dry or sensitive skin too. Oh and whilst you are on the Omorovicza website, you should get yourself Miracle Face Oil and Midnight Radiance Mask, or if you are brand new to the brand, this is a GREAT set to get a great overview of the brand and what it can do to your skin. This is the set which got my mum hooked, it’s amazing!
IT Cosmetics CC Cream
Another old favourite of mine, but I seriously can’t stop shouting about it. IT Cosmetics CC Cream is literally the BEST foundation I’ve ever used. I’m such a huge fan of it! I recommend it to everyone I can and everyone comes back and tells me how much they loved it. This is my second tube of it and it’s honestly incredible!
Charlotte Raffaelli Watch
I had never heard of Charlotte Raffaelli Watches until recently, but they are sold on watchshop.com and I was instantly smitten with the beautiful bright pink orchid design on the face. It’s so pretty and exactly what I needed in my summer wardrobe! Oh and at £44 it’s a STEAL!
It’s officially peony season and my local morrisons have had oodles of stock of these beautiful pink flowers! Peony season is always SO short, but it’s SO lovely when those tight bud balls open up to reveal endless petal! Huge shout out to the Morrison’s flower buyers for filling the shelves with them, you’ve made me SO happy!
Bioderma SPF 50 Dry Body Oil
Thanks to the June heatwave and all the dog walks I have been on, I’ve been SO careful to wear SPF all day every day. I usually avoid sun oils, with sun-worshippers and all the lucky folks who tan rather than burn, but actually, this one by Bioderma has been my go-to SFP recently. It’s got a protection of SPF 50, it’s super fast to apply, it smells lightly of citrus and orange blossom and it feels really nourishing too. Fun fact, my boyfriend likes using this one too, I think he likes the fact he doesn’t have to check in the mirror to make sure there’s no white marks before he leaves the house. I get that. PS. I’ve also put a bottle in our Airbnb apartment for our guests to use during the heatwave!
Astley Clarke Bracelet
I used to be ALL about the statement jewels, but when I got engaged I fell out of love with them. My YSL arty rings rarely get a look in, my Mawi is in a box somewhere and instead my simple Cartier Love ring reigns and I find myself rotating a Chanel brooch (or 5). I’ve been on the look-out for an everyday bracelet for a while, something special enough to sit next to my rings, but not so statement it gets in my way or detracts attention. I think I’ve finally found it in the form of this Astley Clarke bracelet. It’s easy to fasten, sits close to my wrist and the design is simple but the detailing really catches the light. Flawless!
Percy & Reed ‘No Oil Hair Oil’
Ok, so this is exactly what it says on the tin, well, bottle, but you know what I mean. This Percy & Reed ‘No Oil Hair Oil’ gives all the nourishment of a classic hair oil without ever feeling greasy and making your hair feel flat. This is one of those iconic hero hair products and it is amazing, I’ve been using it on and off for years and it’s great. The only thing is, I really wish P&R would create their products in a second scent. I know this is a completely personal thing and most people ADORE the P&R scent, but it reminds of a time in my life and I love their products, but forever wish I could enjoy them with a different scent.
Philip Normal X Paperchase
My old buddy, Philip Normal has collaborated with Paperchase and I feel SO DARN PROUD of him! There’s so many super sassy items in his collab, lots of cool slogan, artwork which is based on his clothing collection and tattoos and it’s just a badass collection which everyone needs a piece of! My favourite piece has to be this HUGE glitter filled pen. I’m not sure how easy it will be to write with it, but does practicality normally interest me? I think not! Make sure you check out the whole collection!
Guerlain ‘Bee Glow’ Moisturiser
Summer skin is dewy, glowy, glossy, healthy skin. Easier said than done right? Right! This month I have been using Guerlain Bee Glow Moisturiser, it’s gold in colour it’s worth it’s weight in gold… well almost, but it’s great! It gives that ‘I just had a facial’ glow and you can use it over foundation for an added touch of illumination and glow. It’s plumping, rich, hydrating and it feels so darn good to use. I’m such a huge fan of Guerlain, it’s such a ‘Love’ brand of mine, they always nail it with their beautiful formulas, stunning scents and dreamy colours and finishes. This product is no exception!
Coach Parker Handbag
I’m not going to stop banging on about Coach until you are all fans of them like I am! This new Coach Parker Handbag is SO pretty it makes my head spin! I love the ombre blue leather and the monogram coated canvas. It’s PERFECT for summer and oh-so-cute with a vintage summer dress! FYI, another favourite Coach bag of mine is the Rogue. I LOVE that bag so much I have it in three different colours. No kidding!
Models Own ‘Glow For It’
I’m forever on the hunt for high street versions of my favourites to recommend. This month, I’d love to join you in the direction of Models Own ‘Glow For It’ highlighter, it comes in a few shades but my personal favourite is Girl Crush. FYI for those who like a super holographic highlighter, there are lilac / blue versions too, but this nude-gold is my fave. It reminds me a little of the Iconic highlighter which I love and for £7.99 it’s a great price. I use it as a highlighter over my foundation, but you can add a few drops into your foundation for an all over glow if you want to really glow hard….
And there we have it… my June Favourites! I don’t think I missed anything out, but you know my memory is terrible!
