In Review…

For those of you who have never heard of Clean Reserve, it’s time you headed down to your nearest Space NK to check them out because quite frankly, their fragrances are fabulous, modern, exciting, simple and well, Clean! They have a wonderful ‘plucked from nature’ feel to them and whilst you might expect them to be subtle and un-intrusive (which can be a little boring), Clean Reserve fragrances still pack a punch and make a statement, but in a pared-back chic modern way, obvs.

So, let’s chat about Clean Reserve Sweetbriar & Moss, shall we? Well, first of all, it’s worth pointing out that this fragrance is crafted with sustainable notes of rose, sichuan pepper and lychee rose, which is really interesting, as I never think about the sustainability of fragrance normally, or the carbon footprint for that matter. I guess that’s a post for another day, but regardless I wanted to mention it because nature, freshness and cleanliness is really at the heart of Clean Reserve’s DNA. Sweetbriar & Moss opens with a fresh, zesty hit of Mandarin, spicy Pepper and sweet Lychee Rose. The heart of the fragrance is filled with notes of jasmine, rose and saffron flower, whilst the base is rich with amber, moss, cedarwood and cashmere wood. Whilst it might sound like this fragrance is has a complex composition, it actually feels really simple and uncluttered, perhaps it’s because there are only three dominant accords; sharp, citrus mandarin, vintage florals and earthy green notes. Clean Reserve Sweetbriar & Moss is exciting, fresh, modern and effortlessly cool. I know I keep going back to the fact that this perfume is feels so natural and clean, but if you smelt it for yourself, you would understand, it’s like that smell of warm sunshine beating down and releasing the scent from the flowers, greenery and ground, that first moment when you slice open and orange and the juice sprays over your fingers. If heavy ouds aren’t your thing and you go nuts for fragrances like Jo Malone’s Lime Basil Mandarin or Shay & Blue’s Blood Orange, then I’m pretty sure you are going to love this one too!
