Perfume: Jo Malone London ‘Jasmine Sambac & Marigold’

Jo Malone London ‘Jasmine Sambac & Marigold’

“Marigold is a fairly unusual ingredient. Its fruity and aromatic facets contrast harmoniously with the fresh and natural tones of jasmine sambac. Together they capture the vibrancy of an Indian flower market.”

In Review…

If there’s one thing I love in life, it’s a new Jo Malone London launch, no really! Their fragrances fill my heart with joy and they are such zeitgeists in the fragrance world that I am always so excited to see what they do next and luckily for us, they rarely disappoint! April will see the launch of Jo Malone London Jasmine Sambac & Marigold which is the latest addition to the Cologne Intense Collection. I often think Jasmine can be a bit of a ‘hit or miss’ accord because sometimes brands substitute high quality, as-nature-intended jasmine flowers with a cheap, synthetic jasmine-inspired chemical-based version. The synthetic version never works and quite frankly, it gives the real thing a bad reputation! Of course, Jo Malone London use the finest quality jasmine, as they do with all their ingredients, which is why this cologne is a jasmine-based beauty which is a perfect addition to my fragrance wardrobe… and possibly yours too!

Jo Malone London Jasmine Sambac & Marigold is a stunning blend of pure white jasmine flower, marigold, ylang ylang, benzoin and vanilla. To describe it, I would need you to imagine the most perfect jasmine flower buds, harvested at dawn, sparkling with morning dew. The sunshine marigolds like a ray of uplifting morning sunshine and the ylang ylang flower is slightly more exotic, which adds to floral accords, but also bridges the gap between the florals at the top of the perfume and the opulent, rich base notes. Like most Jo Malone London fragrance, Jasmine Sambac & Marigold perfectly balances the light, fresh and floral notes with the darker, moodier base notes; addictive vanilla which is slightly woodsy and benzoin which is sweet, spicy, smooth resin (amber). Whilst the Cologne Intense fragrances tend to be darker and heavier than the main collection, Jasmine Sambac & Marigold, still retains a freshness and a lightness which makes it a lot more accessible than a lot of the other Cologne Intense fragrance. It’s absolutely flawless and if you love fragrances like Dark Amber & Ginger Lily, I would recommend trying this one too,  because it’s absolutely stunning! It’s Jo Malone London doing what they do best and I can’t get enough of it!

Jo Malone London Jasmine Sambac & Marigold will be released on the 1st April 2018 and is priced at £75 for a 50ml bottle and £115 for a 100ml bottle.
