Style: Winter Shimmer

Winter Shimmer

There’s this weird fashion myth that in the lead up to Christmas you can wear as much glitter, shimmer and crystals that you want. But post-Christmas, people seem to put the sparkles away and stick to muted tones and subdued winter knits. Now whilst I’m not saying you should wear your tacky Christmas jumpers throughout January (I’m not even sure about wearing them in December, if I’m honest!) I do feel like January needs needs a little glitz too. No wonder people find January the most depressing month of the year and February is no better, Christmas is long since over, the weather is freezing and you can’t even look down and see your nails sparkling away and your shoes shinning like the sun.

Gimme Glitter

Where’s the fun in that? My friends, I think it’s time to extend the sparkles into spring. Keep wearing your cashmere knits with crystal collars; apply the glitter topcoat to your nails and let your sparkle lift your mood and everyone else’s around you. What’s the point of having all these glam garms if you don’t wear them? With this in mind, I’m wearing my current favourite skirt. It’s from Marks & Spencer and I absolutely love it! I got it on sale for around £28 but I think it’s since gone down to around £12. Seriously, M&S clothes are the best right now, get yourself down there because they really have up’ed their game in the last year!
