I don’t wanna be a moany-pony, but I’ve had a stressful month. I’ve had loads of tech issues on my blog and it felt like a major bump in the road! It’s been a pretty expensive month and it’s been hard to keep my head in the game. But I’ve had the sweetest messages (thank you so much everyone) and there’s been a few little things below which have kept the smile on my face… Let’s have a look shall we?!
Spectrum Brushes ‘Sweetheart’ Brush
Don’t you just love valentines day? Not for the flowers, romance and champagne, no… for the heart shaped delights in all the shops! I think my favourite thing this year was this amazing heart shaped Spectrum Collections brush, it’s just so cool! Possibly too cool to actually use, I’m not sure yet!
Simply Be Shoot
This month I did one of my favourite shoots ever, EVER! No really! It was so much fun and I LOVED the photos at the end of it. Wait, is that a weird thing to say? That I loved the photos of myself?! What I really loved was the photography, the clothes, the location.. Everything! I personally think the photos would have been better without my stupid face in them, but still, it was such a fun shoot and despite the fact that I’m centre frame, I love them! PS. go check out the Simply Be collection, there’s some amazing items to be found!
This month saw the launch of a fabulous new podcast, The Fringe Of It by Charlotte Jacklin and Liv Purvis, it went straight to number 1 of the podcast charts and I literally squealed when I found out! In the first episode they talk all about friendship, I’m not going to tell you too much about it, because you need to go listen to it yourself, but I can’t wait for the next episode! Aside from that, I’ve also been enjoying (is that the right word to use for a serial killer podcast?!) Atlanta Monster and the latest series of Someone Knows Something. All worth subscribing too and if you want a big old list of other podcasts to listen to, check out this post. Also, I really enjoyed episode 15 of They Walk Among Us… I’m not going to tell you anymore because you need to listen to it for yourself!
Acqua di Parma Rosa Nobile Perfume
I have worked my way through a fair few bottles of Acqua di Parma Rosa Nobile and I never get bored of wearing it! It’s so beautiful, delicate, fabulous, fresh and elegant. There’s a lot of lovely Rose based perfumes out there, but this one, is one of my very favourites! It’s a beautiful blend of Pepper, bergamot, mandarin, Rose, violet, lili-of-the-valley, peony, Musk, ambergris and cedar. The dominant note is of course rose, but the fresh citrus, spice, florals and wood add so many more dimensions to it. If you love fragrances like Jo Malone London Red Roses and Diptyque Eau Rose, then you need to add this one to your collection, if you haven’t already!
I know I bang on about how much I LOVE Teapigs Matcha, but honestly, I really do. I add it to my porridge and musli, lattes and juices, it’s like rocket fuel for the soul and because it’s green tea rather than coffee, it’s rocket fuel with health benefits. FYI, if you have never had matcha or you are not sure what it is, it’s a type of green tea which is the ground up leaves rather than a stewed leaves, so it’s wayyyy more potent, it’s like having 20 cups of green tea in a row!
This month I have been working hard on making my desk space look cute. The desktop is still a mess, but the walls are looking pretty cute. It’s nice to look up and see a pink wall, but it’s nicer to look up at a pink wall covered in cute postcards and banners!
Spring is here (well, sort of, there’s currently snow on the ground!) and there’s tulips in the supermarket again! For just £3 you can get a big bunch of joy which lasts the whole week! Isn’t that amazing?!?!
Garnier Botanical Balm
My skin has been pretty dry this month thanks to all the central heating, so I have been loving the Garnier Botanical Balm cream. It’s a weird one to get your head around, as it’s a day cream, night cream and face mask, basically depending on how much you put on. I have been wearing it on make-up free days and using a big ol’ layer at night too. For me, it’s a little thick to wear with anything more than a CC cream, as I don’t like to wear heavy creams under foundation but every other day it’s perfect for me. Oh and it’s really good at keeping my hot/sore central heating cheeks under control!
Boden always know how to make me happy and these shoes are my latest obsession? I can’t wait til the weather is nicer and I can wear them! They are just adorable! Also, if you want a real treat for the eyes, go check out their latest collection, it’s stunning!
Atelier Cologne ‘Tobacco Nuit’ Perfume
This month I had an opportunity to really explore the Atelier Cologne collection. Wowzer! I had no idea their collection was so huge and choosing a fragrance was super tricky as there is so many good ones to choose from. Eventually I went for ‘Tobacco Nuit’ because I loved the smoky, evening, jazz club vibes. It’s also a great one for sharing with my boyfriend too, you guys know I love to share fragrances with my man!
Bourjois Rouge Edition Liquid Lipstick
About six months ago, I fell in love with the Bourjois Rouge lipsticks; I love the way they glide on, feel super light-weight and then dry to turn matte to give a stunning finish with a great pop of colour. They don’t transfer, they aren’t drying and they last for hours. Seriously, one of the best new products I have seen in a while. I was lucky enough to have been sent a pretty heft collection of them and after I chose my favourite shades, I gave some of my friends with pinky nudes that I knew wouldn’t work on me. My friends loved them just as much as I did and I’m so pleased as they are such great value as well as great quality. Anyyyyywaaayyyy, they have now launched a liquid version of these lipsticks, there are oodles of colours to choose from and they are gorgeous! Personally, I still prefer the bullets, because that’s how I prefer to apply lipstick, but these are awesome too! I honestly can’t recommend the Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipsticks enough, it’s just up to you if you prefer to apply a bullet or a liquid lipstick!
Ta Da!!! And there we have it! My February Favourites! It feels a little short this month, but let’s be honest, it’s a short month!
