Unintentionally Monochrome

If your New Years Resolution is to up your blogging game, then my advice would be to invest in yourself. What do I mean by this? Well firstly, invest in your self care. Treat yourself, upgrade your every day (I wrote about it here) and take the time to do yoga, meditate, take baths, read, journal, whatever you need to feel good and take time for yourself. Also, invest in photography, especially of YOU, if you don’t have an amazing blogger boyfriend or BFF who’s willing to dedicate hours to getting that perfect shot of you, then there are people you can hire to help you with this. For this shoot, I worked with Ashanti of Adorn Girl. We met up in London, went for coffee and cakes, then set about the kinda-daunting task of taking some outfit pictures! Ashanti knows I’m not the most confident in front of the camera, so she found a secluded street which nicely matched my outfit and started snapping away. She made me laugh, pout, walk around and generally have fun in the street. All the while giving me plenty of opportunity to have a look at the photos so I could check my fringe wasn’t too unruly and my smile wasn’t too goofy. It was so much fun I almost forgot what we were doing, but a few days later when she sent over the shots I was super happy with them. You might not be able to afford regular shoots with a photographer, but even shoots once in a while can be all you need to get some great content which you can use for weeks (or months) whenever you need portraits of yourself for interviews, outfit posts, thought pieces, profile pics, twitter and Instagram posts. If you use the time / shoots wisely, you can get a lot of mileage out of these pics as you can change your outfit up to six times to keep the images looking fresh and you’ve basically got 6 outfit posts done in one go! Plus having a great photographer shoot you, can give you a huge confidence boost! I know working with both Sam (she’s amazing and based in the Margate / South Kent area) and Ashanti (London based) has helped me feel more at ease in front of the camera. It’s Basically All On Sale…

As for my outfit, this combo has been pretty much my winter staple. My jumper and boots are both from Boden, half my wardrobe is from there, I freakin’ love them! My skirt is from River Island and it’s currently on sale. It’s so easy to style up and so comfortable, I’m tempted to buy a second one for laundry days! As for my coat, it’s from Navabi and it’s so extra, I’m obsessed with it! Y’all have probably noticed I love a good fur coat but this one is my current favourite by a mile. Again, it’s currently on sale if you want to match with me! My whole outfit is basically on sale… #justsaying.
