Fragrance: Paco Rabanne ‘Invictus Aqua’ & ‘Olympea Aqua’ (AD)

Paco Rabanne Invictus Aqua perfume fragrance review

Paco Rabanne ‘Invictus Aqua’ & ‘Olympea Aqua’

Good afternoon my friends, I have a very exciting new launch to share with you all! This month sees the release of Paco Rabanne’s new fragrance duo, Invictus Aqua for him, and Olympea Aqua for her. Regular readers might remember how much I love the classic Paco Rabanne fragrance Olympea and funnily enough, my boyfriend owns a bottle of Invictus somewhere in his stash too. Why is this so uncanny? Because I’m talking about the latest incarnations of these these two iconic fragrances; Olympea Aqua and Invictus Aqua. Are you ready to dive in?

Paco Rabanne Invictus Aqua perfume fragrance review

Paco Rabanne ‘Invictus Aqua’

Let’s start with the mens shall we? Paco Rabanne Invictus Aqua is exciting, fresh and intrinsically masculine. Like a crashing wave, it bursts open with a heavy hit of invigorating and zesty grapefruit. It mingles with the aquatic accords and a hint of green leaves and summer foliage. Just as you are about to categorise this fragrance as a Summery citrus mens fragrance, a heavy base of sweet, warm gaïac wood is revealed along with sensual ambergris, a touch of spice and earthy patchouli. Paco Rabanne Invictus Aqua is a fabulous bright, breezy summer mens fragrance, with a deep, woodsy powerful heart. It’s a strong and powerful as it is light and bright, a fragrance of two halves and perfect for a man who likes a statement scent. My boyfriend is away at the moment so he’s not tried it yet, but I know he’s going to LOVE it because it’s perfect for the hot summer months when the crisp white shirt and chinos come out!

Paco Rabanne ‘Olympea Aqua’

As much as I LOVE the mens’ Invictus Aqua, I can’t help but feel even more excited about Olympea Aqua because this is the one I can wear! As I mentioned earlier, I adore the classic Olympea because it’s so darn addictive and luxe, however, Paco Rabanne’s Olympea Aqua has more of a summery twist, which I’m really craving right now! It reminds of me of salted caramel treats mixed with peach cream cakes in a quaint coastal cafe on a summers day! It’s a delightful mix of lemon blossom, salty-vanilla, citrusy calamondin, aquatic accords, jasmine, ambergris and cashmere woods. The creamy vanilla is sweet and addictive, with an unexpected salty twist. The solar notes are bright and elegant and the jasmine is feminine and mysterious. The cashmere woods give the fragrance a real luxurious, sensual base note, whereas the citrus notes give the perfume an overall feeling of freshness and sparkle. If you love delicious fruity-florals, then you will adore Olympea Aqua, however, it also appeals to those of us who love ‘sunshine in a bottle’ style fragrance like Terracotta and Bronze Goddess. It’s such a joyful perfume and it’s almost impossible not to feel happy when you wear it! I know I’ll be wearing Olympea Aqua from now until the end of summer, I love it!
