Behind The Scenes with BNTM X Carmex
A few months ago, I was invited to a super secret shoot with Carmex. They couldn’t tell me much about it, just that it was going to be a super fun day and I didn’t want to miss out. With an invitation like this, how could I resist?! So I hopped on the bus to East London and found myself in the most beautiful studio above a pub, it was filled with models, crew, MUA’s and a whole lot of lip balm. I had found myself on the set of Britain’s Next Top Model, ready for a pop art inspired shoot featuring Carmex.
Carmex is the world’s favourite lip balm brand, loved for it’s unique tingle and smooth formular, I personally think the packaging is adorable too, it’s got the cutest retro Americana vibes and no matter what your lip balm preferences are in terms of gels, pots, tinted and flavours, I’m pretty sure Carmex will be able to cater to your tastes (pun always intended!). My personal favourite is the pomegranate flavour, I also loved the collaboration pots they did with Skinnydip!
The aim of the shoot was to provide Carmex with lifestyle images for their forthcoming campaign. Each girl was transformed into a pop-art persona with a modern, urban and edgy twist. To draw attention to the lips, the models pouted, posed and did a little kissing! These girls may still be in the early stages of their careers, but damn, they have balls! It takes me forever to get a simple shot of me smiling and holding my handbag, but these girls switched up their poses, directed the boy and straddled the motorbike like old pros. If I had emoji hands, I would clap them right now! It’s always so much fun and so exciting going backstage at shoots, I ran around the set all afternoon taking stacks of photos of the set, models, make up and photoshoot, I hope you guys love seeing it and fingers crossed I managed to capture the excitement of the day! Also, don’t forget to tune into BNTM in November 2017 to see the full show.
This post has be written in collaboration with Carmex. As always all opinions are my own.
