Getting Ready For The Big Day With Liz Earle

It’s amazing how time races by, I can’t believe it’s coming up to three years ago my boyfriend and I got engaged! I never expected us to have such a long engagement, but quite frankly, buying a renovating a house has been a much bigger job than we expected and as a result, everything has fallen by the wayside. As our house project starts to draw to an end, we have started discussing setting a date  and the plans we both have. I don’t want to give away to much right now, but if I had three words to describe it, they would be…. Intimate. Fun. Fabulous! Make of that, what you will!

An Afternoon With Treatment Ambassador Sarah Carr

A few months ago I went to an afternoon tea with Liz Earle Beauty Co. and their incredible lifestyle ambassador, Sarah Carr. Over macaroons and champagne, we discovered that your skin wedding prep should start six months before the big day. After all, you don’t get fabulous glowing skin overnight and with their six month plan, your skin will be glowing head-to-toe, your make-up flawless and even the bags under your eyes… eradicated! Also, planning a wedding is known for being intensely stressful, which is where Liz Earle can help rebalance from the inside out. Their products use essential oils to help relieve stress, detox your soul and generally give you the little extra self-care you need at this stressful time. Let’s Go!

Six Months To Go

Six months may feel like a long time away, but it’s never too early to begin prepping your complexion for wedding day radiance. Start a regular cleanse, tone and moisturise routine and stick with it. Now is the time to invest in a core set of products, like the award-winning 3-step routine, and use them every day, morning and night. If you can afford to invest in facials to go along side this skincare routine, I can’t recommend it highly enough. Not only will your facialist be able to help create a bespoke everyday skincare routine for you depending on your skin needs and the season, but the facials will be done to balance the deep cleansing and nourishment your skin needs. I have been going for regular facials with their lifestyle ambassador, Sarah Carr (who is based at their Duke Of York store) and with just a few sessions, my skin was left looking good enough to spend the afternoon roaming around london, make-up free. My skin looking radiant, clear, clean, toned and even my dark circles lifted. Liz Earle recommend booking facials every 4-6 weeks in the lead up to the big day and I agree, if you can afford the extra investment, it’s really worth it!

Three Months To Go

This is the time where you might start to feel a little more stressed about the final wedding arrangements, so make sure you keep up the good skincare routine and add in extra face masks and targeted treatments.Don’t panic! There’s still plenty of time to perfect your pampering routine. A little diligence with skincare now will certainly pay off as the big day approaches. If you’re stressed, be aware it will show in your skin, so try to book out some precious me-time and enjoy a relaxing mask or facial massage, even if it’s only once a week. If you don’t already use a serum and eye cream, now is the time! The five-star-rated Superskin™ Face Serum will help lift, firm and even out your skintone, and the Superskin™ Eye Cream will leave the eye area brighter and firmer. If you don’t already use the Gentle Face Exfoliator, introduce one 2-3 times a week to help remove impurities.

One Month To Go

The big day is getting close! So make a conscious effort to try and keep stress levels low and build in a little extra pampering time. Think of it as investing in yourself, this time is important. If you’re having a spray tan, go for a trial run this month to check the colour is exactly what you expected. Keeping your skin smooth and hydrated with a body scrub and hydrating body cream which will make your fake tan look better and last longer. Make sure you pay extra attention to knees, heels and elbows! We’ve all been there! Book your make up trial, or if you’re doing your own, have a practise trial run. In both instances, ask somebody to photograph you afterwards so you can decide if there are any features you’d like to accentuate further or tone down. I can’t stress enough how different make up looks on camera to how it looks IRL. Make sure you find a look which you love in real life as much as you do in photos.

One Week To Go

Yikes!! One week to go! How exciting, but also, how stressful! Try to enjoy this amazing time and not get too stressed. If you are a yoga bunny, do an extra class, if you love to mediate, then make sure you do it every day! The app ‘Headspace’ is amazing for guided meditations and most importantly, find the time for some last minute pampering. Now is the time to book that final wax, spray tan, facial, massage, hair treatment, whatever you need to feel amazing. Try and drink plenty of water, eat well and get lots of sleep this week. Give your skin a treat with the Nourishing Treatment Mask and pamper your body with an the Superskin™ Body Oils.

One Day To Go

How exciting! Whilst there is probably plenty of pre-wedding things to do today, make sure you find time to de-stress, however that looks for you: Reading, mediation, relaxing bath, yoga or a work out. Before bed light some relaxing candles, use a pillow spray and give yourself a five-minute facial massage with Superskin™ Concentrate for Night. This will do wonders for your skin and also help you drift off to sleep.

On The Day

The big day is finally here! Add a little exfoliator into your morning cleanse to make sure your skin is radiant and prepped for the day appear. Tone your skin with Superskin™ Face Serum and press it into your face neck and décolletage for a hydration boost. Allow a moment to dry before adding your Moisturiser and now your skin should be primed for your make-up. Make sure you eat a high-protein breakfast and if you have time, a light lunch as there will be a long wait before dinner time and lots of drink in-between. Finally, have an amazing day! If anything doesn’t go exactly to plan, don’t worry, enjoy it, because it’s these moments which you will remember and laugh about in the future!

This post has been sponsored by Liz Earle, all options are my own and thank you to Sarah Carr and the team for all the invaluable wedding advice.

I can’t use the cleanse and polish I have a bad reaction to it, I think it’s the camphor but I really like the skin tonic, it’s lovely and smells amazing xxx
