September Favourites
Hello My friends! It’s time to look over the past month and check out my September Favourites! Are we ready?
IT Cosmetics ‘Je Ne Sais Quoi’ Palette
Now that I have hit pan on my favourite Becca X Jaclyn Hill palette, I’m on the hunt for a replacement. Something similar, to wear every day to give a little blush, highlight and contour, I think IT Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Palette could be the one! I love the shade of pretty pinky peach, The highlighter is luminous and pale enough for my ghostly skin and the contour is perfect, not too dark and shimmer free. It even has a translucent powder to finish the look. Perfection? I think so!
Swarovski Bracelet
Forever adorning myself with crystals and this Swarovski Bracelet is a firm favourite right now! Mainly because it’s cute and easy to wear, but I also love the fact it doesn’t get in my way when I’m typing and I can fasten it without the help of my boyf, thanks to it’s easy to use magnetic clasp.
Taschka Black Glitter Shoes
The transition into Autumn means a few things… Hot chocolates on tap, blankets, X-Factor and jumpers. It also means putting away the rainbow coloured clothes in favour of glittery neutrals. Y’all know I can’t resist a few sparkles which is why I’m obsessed with these stunning shoes by Taschka. Seriously, does it get any better than this? I don’t think so! FYI, the shoes are currently on sale if you wanna twin with me!
Kellogg’s Unicorn Froot Loops
Ermmmm, so I haven’t actually tried these yet, because the box is so darn cute, I don’t wanna ruin them, but I am kind of obsessed with these Kellogg’s Unicorn Froot Loops! I think they are from Asda and they are limited edition, but seriously if these aren’t worth getting up for, then what is?! I thought I was over unicorns, but Kelloggs proved me wrong!
Listening
This month I have been listening to less podcasts and more audiobooks via my new Audible subscription (FYI, if you sign up you get a free trial period, so I haven’t actually spent any money yet!). I have quite a few recommendations to make, but I think ‘The Child’ would be the most notable. It’s about the remains of a baby and a journalist researching who’s baby it is, how it got there and all the twists and turns along the way. It’s kind of an amazing story and well worth listening to. And if you don’t like it, you just return the book, get your credit back and ‘spend’ it on something else! Podcast wise, LBQ blog recommended an episode of In The Limelight which I loved, it was all about Gossip Girl as it nears it’s 10th anniversary. The episode is called ‘XOXO’ and it includes an interview with Derota, SO GOOD!!! Also, I know I have talked about Made Online podcast before, but I cannot recommend episode 13 enough. It’s an interview with Lauren Mahon of Girl Stole London, I’m not going to say anything about it because you need to just go and listen to it, because it’s truly incredible and inspirational. It’s an essential listen, so go search ‘Made Online’ on the podcast app, or listen to it here via your computer.
Miller Harris ‘Fleur Oriental’
This summer saw Miller Harris re-release four much loved old fragrances, one of them is Figure Amère, which is an old favourite of mine, another is Fleur Oriental which I’m only just discovering for the first time now, but damn, it’s just lovely! It’s a blend of orange blossom, heliotrope, amber, labdanum, musk and vanilla. It’s feminine, powdery, floral and with a hint of a throwback to vintage fragrance. Stunning!
Skinnydip iPhone Case
I recently got the iPhone 6plus and I had NO idea how freakin’ hard it would be to find a nice iPhone case. Is it just me or are all the good iPhone cases designed for the 6, not the 6plus. #BloggerProblems right?! Well, I finally solved my issue with this new case from Skinnydip, it’s a tactile leatherette finish, lush palm print design and sturdy enough to act as a handy buffer when I drop my phone 50 times a day.
Max Mara Sunglasses
Another day, another pair of sunglasses! Recently, I have been wearing these Max Mara Sunglasses and I bloody love them! They are right up my street, oversized wide frames, slightly retro shape and as black as my soul! But seriously, they are f**king fabulous and I love them!
Elizabeth Arden ‘Gelato Collection’ Gel Blush
I’m always a big fan of Elizabeth Arden, for skincare and make up and my latest obsession is their Gelato Collection Gel Blush. They work much like their liquid highlighter (which you can find here, also amazing!) it’s stored in a pot, behind mesh so you can dip your finger onto the mesh and just take the tiny amount needed. It’s a beautiful balmy, watery texture and it just soaks in and gives a lovely melty, soft glow. Absolutely love it! I’m big into blushes and this is a really, really lovely one!
Star Print Skirt
Do you ever fall in love with an item of clothing on a website and then when it arrived you instantly hate it because alas, you’re not a model and it looks completely different on your ample hips or giant boobs?! I was convinced this Elvi skirt would look horrific on me, but I loved the design so much, I decided to give it a whirl regardless. I’m SO glad I did because I freakin’ love it! Everything about it is perfect, the navy blue with the gold stars, the elastic waist band, the length, the slip underneath… I just love it! It’s currently on sale so if you want it, go get it tiger!
Perricone MD Skincare
This next one is actually a August / September favourite and I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to share more information about it! I have been using Perricone MD Skincare and I’m loving the results. What can I say, it absorbs fast, hydrates perfectly and brightens skin magically. I know there is a hugeeeeee amount of love and hype for Perricone MD skincare out there, but believe me… it’s worth every amazing review you have ever heard! I particularly love the serum which is super light, hydrating, brightening and just refines skin. Fabulous!
Bodhi & Birch Shower Gel
Now that we have a fabulous tub in our bathroom, I’m spending my mornings taking breezy showers and my evenings soaking in a full tub. Life is sweet when you’re lounging in a tub! I’ve been using a lot of Epsom salts in an attempt to detox (not sure why, must have heard it on a podcast!) and adding in some shower gel or body wash to add a little fragrance, mainly in the form of Bodhi & Birch. I have been using B&B since they were simply names Bodhi and I am a hugeeeeee fan of their amazingly fragrances products. I actually forgot how much I love their products until recently, so if you are looking for an awesome shower or bath product, I urge you to try Bodhi & Birch. SO GOOD!
