Of all the amazing things I’ve ever done as a blogger, I still think back to an evening with Jo Malone, the founder of Jo Malone London and now Jo Loves, as a real highlight! After changing the fragrance landscape with her brand Jo Malone London and later selling it on to Estee Lauder, she created Jo Loves. At Jo Loves, she produces simple, high quality and elegant fragrances, always with a twist and plenty of exciting ingredients and innovation. In a world of wannabe girl bosses, Jo Malone is the real deal, she’s truly an amazing woman!

Annnnyyyyyway, I’m not here to chat about the woman herself, I’m wanting a share a few thoughts on one of my favourite ever Jo Loves perfumes, White Rose & Lemon Leaves. I think we all know I love a good rose-based fragrance, but I’m normally all about the velvety heady red roses, I would go as far to say I actually don’t like the scent of white roses, but White Rose & Lemon Leaves is different, it’s stunning! First of all, there’s a punch of fresh zesty lemons which are so crisp and clean, they mingle with the fresh green leaves before the soft white roses come in to play. There is also a touch of petit grain, which is also green, citrusy and floral, but with an orange twist, which adds depth to both the rose and lemon accords. Finally, there is a warm sweet base of amber and honey which gives the fragrance a little sensuality and warmth. Also, there’s a lovely powdery trail which reminds me of vintage fragrances and gives the fragrance a lingering trail of old Hollywood. What can I say, White Rose & Lemon Leaves is simple in some ways, but rich and fabulous in others. It’s effervescent and elegant, and you need to try this fragrances because it’s absolutely stunning in every single way! And if it’s not for you, then spend a little time in the Jo Love stores finding something which is a little more suited to you, because I promise you will fall in love when you sniff around!
